Forced Marketing Ruining User Experience
Nobosi on 5/22/2018
No, Reddit, I don’t want to use the app and do want the mobile web page. That’s why I went to it in MobileSafari. Reddit’s mobile website insistence on trying to redirect me to the app every time rather than just showing me the web page is infuriating. Use the standard app install banner on your web page that I can ignore if I so desire in cases where I want to use private browsing. Putting buttons where the default action is to send me to the App Store for your app is the kind of stuff that goes in the highest level of app hell.
The best double edged sword!
SpaceCoast88 on 5/22/2018
It's great! It's shows you the best and the worst of the internet through an interactive looking glass. My life is forever changed and time constantly captured by the screen. Discipline yourself not to over consume this deliciously addictive digital content. Cheers mate!
Update 4.10.0
Poli2ce on 5/22/2018
I’ve been enjoying most of the improvements, but please make the new subreddit icon in compact mode a toggle. I use night mode and browse at night and it is distracting. Minor issue, but also easy(ish) fix.
Can’t login
Talihassee on 5/22/2018
I have never been able to login to this app. “Incorrect user name or login”. There is a reddit page with other users experiencing the same issue only with the app. Please fix this. It has been like this for several versions.
Unnecessary tab
Jordanmm9914 on 5/22/2018
If I wanted to look at news on any of those subjects on the news tab, I would have subscribed to the appropriate subreddit or go to an actual news site, this tab is just cluttering up the app.
Great app
Hfjehehdh on 5/22/2018
This is a great app and I would most definitely recommend it but there is one small issue I would like to point out. I've had a small issue where sometimes the app would auto refresh which isn't a real problem but it is a little annoying. It is rare though so it doesn't bother me too much, but if it were to be fixed then that would be awesome. Other than that though it's a great app!!
Decent app, but saves every video viewed!!
Michael Chaney on 5/22/2018
This app will save every video that you’ve watched, and the only way to fix this is by deleting it or going to storage and manually deleting each one. You’d be surprised how fast it builds up!
This could be a great app
Jazz459m on 5/22/2018
I love Reddit. It’s my favorite social media app. However, it takes at least one refresh of my feed every time I open the app. The feed doesn’t load the first time. My second issue is after scrolling down my feed, it hits a stopping point. The feed doesn’t keep loading. Please fix this. I love Reddit.
Chatbox glitches on mobile
virgiliusmaro on 5/22/2018
When writing a message that is longer than the box, the screen does not scroll to follow the words I am typing. Instead, I have to scroll manually, but this always results in it glitching and throwing me off the keyboard, then I tap again and it throws me again, then I tap and usually it lets me finish typing. It is very annoying. It is very reluctant to show new messages and often I have to refresh the app to see them. This is also a problem on desktop with the new website format. Overall the chatbox is worse than even Skype, and that is saying something. I’d also like to see support for sending pictures and videos.
Notifications magically enabled with update
JakeCastro on 5/22/2018
I’ve had notifications turned off for multiple updates, however, the latest release has created new notifications and has enabled those notifications without asking permission.
Choose your own Experience
N3st67 on 5/22/2018
Whatever you want, you got it. Want memes? Follow some meme pages and just have a meme account. Want recipes? Follow some recipe pages and get recipes. Whatever you want you can craft your reddit experience however you’d like it. Best of all, downvotes and active moderators! No more reposts or content that no one wants. Want NSFW? Go to your setting and allow it, but if you don’t then turn it off!
Videos mute sound
MetalCowHorse on 5/22/2018
All videos I try to watch get sound muted after 2-3 seconds this is always a problem and has been a problem since the apps release.
Join the Community!
Jaboi Jehra on 5/22/2018
I love reddit, I’ve learned so many new ideas and events happening around the world from such interesting people! Seems like everyone in this community has something to offer whether it’s intuition or trolling Lol. Definitely my favorite news outlet! (2 yr user) First bug: new update will not finish download:// I CANT BROWSE MY FAVORITE SUBREDDITS PLOX
Volume on YouTube videos
maxrarmstrong on 5/22/2018
Every time I click a video to play it the volume never works
The site is gay but so am I
pepperjack999 on 5/22/2018
It’s a gay social media platform, but as with most redditors, we’re ok with that. But don’t worry. Browsing it is only 1/10 as likely to give you a brain tumor as Tumblr.
LOVE IT but take to much space!!!
Niggamon125513 on 5/21/2018
Reddit needs to stop downloading videos without my permission
New Icons Extremely Distracting
SoCaliStudent on 5/21/2018
My eyes are hurting from the newly added subreddit icons. I’ve always loved the simplicity of the mostly text based combined feed. These new subreddit icons in compact view add zero value, and are causing my eyes to constantly see them, literally making my eyes hurt. Please give us the option to turn off the icons in settings!
DeadSucc on 5/21/2018
I’ve been using reddit for the past 1 1/2 years and I can honestly say it’s one of the best apps I’ve ever used. Interface is simple and has everything you need, and the feed is very organized and easy to use. Great community too
Wrong pictures and video
Fastplant on 5/21/2018
Clicking on pictures and video is bringing up the wrong pictures and video
Sorry, can’t reach reddit

Stop asking for a rating
E_C on 5/21/2018
Every time the app gets updated, it asks me to rate it on the App Store. I’m submitting this 1 star review in hopes that this will stop. I already see ads and you sell my browsing history; stop asking for ratings.
On every video I get 2 seconds of audio and it cuts off..
YvneSpr on 5/21/2018
The only thing that fixes it is to scrub back or forth and change the time of when the video plays and it will play the audio. Seems like it would be a simple fix, I know i can’t be the only one dealing with this issue..
Too many ads
Repzol on 5/21/2018
So incredibly annoying... left for Apollo app
Love it
Mosarie on 5/21/2018
Info overload. More stuff than I could research, read, do in a lifetime. If I want info or opinions its there. Need more hours in a day. Addictive to the point of exhaustion
Harry Parker Osbourne. on 5/20/2018
Looks sleek and well made. 👍

Post error... every time
Silaryia on 5/20/2018
Easy to use and conveys information nicely
HORRIBLE APP - Filled with spam, ads, etc
SantaBarbaraNick on 5/20/2018
Wouldn’t be surprised if they were collecting and sharing data on the level that Facebook does as well. This app is complete garbage. All ads and spam and fake posts. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME

JaiDJade on 5/20/2018
Surprisingly easier to use than the website.
YouTube videos won’t play properly
vsudhwgejd on 5/20/2018
When I try to play a YouTube video, the app automatically muted the sound, and there’s not way to undo the muting except by playing the video in be YouTube app.
5/19/18 Update is HORRENDOUS
Gingerlea723 on 5/20/2018
So many bugs I can’t even use the app. Upvotes aren’t calculating. Comments don’t exist. Pictures don’t load. Sheesh. Didn’t you guys test before you rolled it out.
I like this app...except for one thing
Kate Rose Tyler on 5/19/2018
I would love to be able to give gold on this app, I see at least one comment every day that makes me laugh because it's clever or funny and I'd love to gild it, but I can't! It's so frustrating! So I'm knocking off a star for that. The actual app I quite like, I have night mode on all the time and it's only crashed a handful of times. I can count the times on one hand. Yeah the UI switch of collapsing comments without letting us know was annoying but I figured it out. people will complain about anything. The general functionality is great, I like it just fine. the messages tab is actually way better then the desktop version. actually I just like the mobile version better than the desktop version, the desktop version is overwhelming to me and kind of unorganized but on mobile I do miss the creative subreddit banners. I like the cut-and-dry UI though, no fancy embellishments, just text. maybe I'm boring. moral of this story: PLEASE add the ability to give gold to this mobile app. that's my major complaint. honestly it's kind of ridiculous that the OFFICIAL Reddit app doesn't have that functionality ???? that's just bizarre to me
YouTube videos
ComeOn36 on 5/19/2018
iPhone 6 last few updates YouTube video sound will turn off. When I skip ahead it does it all the time. Have to open video in YouTube app for sound to work.
Must fix
pause4thecause on 5/19/2018
The imbedded YouTube links cover the volume control on the videos. This wouldn’t be a big deal if you could adjust the volume with literally ANYTHING else but sadly you can’t. The ignorant part is there IS ALREADY A SHARE LINK! I mean seriously, redundancy is cool and all, but I might just want to hear the video. Shocking, I know. I will re-rate when fixed...
App is improving nicely
Darknotes on 5/19/2018
Reddit is my favorite app right now, and probably my most used as well. Everything is getting better with the updates it seems. I don’t use the website, so I’m not going to review that. The community is really fun to interact with, and comments are usually the funniest to read!
Won’t refresh articles once scrolling down
Skadoo323 on 5/19/2018
Even after he multiple updates the app doesn’t automatically load articles once you scroll to the bottom of the screen.
Stop closing my music
SpartanJ34 on 5/18/2018
Stop pausing my music every time I click on a post or simply have reddit open. If I’m looking at a video or even a gif, fine. But if I’m just scrolling or looking at text posts it shouldn’t pause my music.
It’s great but I wish I could disable ads
P-Brick on 5/18/2018
That’s my only gripe. I installed Apollo and donated to remove ads and it was definitely the best. But the app really wasn’t all that great. This app is awesome and has come a long way, but I just wish I could get rid of ads.
Reddit developers are terrible.
Rocker3k on 5/18/2018
They make it incredibly difficult receive help from the actual admins. I was falsely suspended for “harassment” and they won’t allow me to log in to be able to appeal. You should be able to appeal by email, not be forced to log into a system that doesn’t work.
Sorry can’t connect to Reddit after 5 updates...
TommyTsunami88 on 5/18/2018
How hard is it to fix that “can’t connect to Reddit” on most people’s homepage? Like all these bug fixes never fix any issues that I’m aware of. Great app but you don’t need updates that make things not function properly.
Super annoying mobile viewing, overpush this app
Peter Culle on 5/18/2018
I love reddit. I shouldn’t have to use this app to view and comment links on chrome though. I use Narwhal because it’s more intuitive to me, but now I have this just for when I’m searching something on chrome and it happens to link back to Reddit. It’s annoying.
Bug needs fixing
Mtrzc on 5/18/2018
I love the app generally, but in a recent update, YouTube videos now show an overlay that covers the iPhones full screen button, so you can't make videos full screen in the app. Please fix 👍🏻
xxpencilxx on 5/18/2018
Why can I only comment once in ever 9 minutes???!?!!!!? It doesn’t make sense. Shouldn’t I be active in the Reddit community? Obviously not since I can’t comment
JustPatrick on 5/18/2018
If you like reddit, this is that! If you don't like Reddit then perhaps this is something else.
Pls fix text in full screen view
adamclark on 5/18/2018
Text in full screen view at top
Too many ads
JackBond1234 on 5/18/2018
I'm very patient with ads, but I think I'm reaching my limit. There are way too many, and I feel like Reddit is trying to swindle me by making ads appear like genuine posts. Advertisers should not have a /u/ Also the community is toxic. Bad politics have invaded subs where it does not belong.
Dark mode problems
Joeczyk on 5/18/2018
I love the feature dark mode that apps come with but with this one every time I login In have to manually go back to dark mode I would like it more when I put it in dark mode it stays in dark mode every single time I open the app it’s stupid I have to manually set a dark mode every single time. please fix!
rA AM on 5/18/2018
I use Reddit way more than Facebook and I am glad I do that. It’s many times more informative than Facebook and the best part is advertising. Far less advertisements than any other site. Thank you Reddit. Keep up the good work
Click bait ads
Farva 10101 on 5/18/2018
Too many crappy click bait ads. Time to uninstall this app and go with another.
