Google Expeditions is a virtual reality teaching tool that lets you lead or join immersive virtual trips all over the world — get up close with historical landmarks, dive underwater with sharks, even visit outer space!
Built for the classroom and small group use, Google Expeditions allows a teacher acting as a “guide” to lead classroom-sized groups of “explorers” through collections of 360° and 3D images while pointing out interesting sights along the way.

• Guide classroom-sized groups of locally connected users from your phone or tablet.
• Explore along with a guide in immersive VR by putting your phone into a Google Cardboard viewer (http://g.co/cardboard) or use a tablet or phone in 2D “magic window” mode.
• Connect devices over the same WiFi network - if the Guide has downloaded some Expeditions, there is no internet connectivity required to run the Expedition!
• Choose from a growing list of over 200 Expeditions - each one is a curated set of VR imagery along with integrated descriptions, talking points and questions.

Do not use this app while driving, walking, or otherwise by being distracted or disoriented from real world situations that prevent you from obeying traffic or safety laws.

Worst app ever

I hate this app. Within five minutes, me and my sister where board to death. The seal lion one was so boring to see a paused sea lions. Also, it takes forever to load. Also I am 10 and it wouldn’t let me be a guide. ( I don’t have the goggles ) People, don’t waste your time on this game. Also, my mom is to busy to be a guide, so I have to be a guide. This app really stinks and I think that no one should buy this “game”.
I’m rating it now

Even tho I’ve just downloaded it. My 93-year-old father recently lost his bride of 70 years, my mother. I am going to download this app and take him on a wonderful trip maybe to Paris sitting down of course. Stay tuned.
Thanks 🙏🏻 ❤️

This takes a few moments to load first time but OMG! It allows one 360 views of so many things I would never get to see if not for this. So far I’ve been on the holiday tour of the White House and to The Great Wall of China today. Bravo.

Great opportunity for classrooms

Love this app and the concept behind it! Giving students the opportunity to explore places that they haven't in the past as well as potential universities that they may want to attend after high school!
Great... if my iPods didn't crash...

I'm a 5th grade teacher that was so excited to hear about this app coming to iOS. I stumbled across a classroom set of gen5 iPods, but the app constantly crashes on them. Managing 30 student iPods with an unreliable app during an expedition is no fun, let me tell you. Please Google, fix this!

Used in a class of mostly iPads with a few phones and Cardboard. Even without true VR the kids loved it and fully engaged.
Love this app!

So many wonderful ways to engage students with this app! I especially love the VR panoramas of Mars - such a great way to get students excited about science!
