If your bank or credit union offers Zelle, you already have it in your mobile banking app or online banking – if they don’t, the Zelle app will make it easy for you to send money to enrolled Zelle users that already have access through their financial institution.

Using just your recipient’s email address or U.S. mobile number, you can settle up simply and safely with almost anyone you know and trust. Even better, Zelle does not charge any fees to use the service. (Mobile carrier or bank fees may apply).
1. Download the Zelle app.
2. Enroll using a Visa® or Mastercard® debit card linked to a U.S. checking account; or
3. Enroll your U.S. checking account by using your online banking username and password, if your bank supports this feature*.
4. Choose a person to pay, or request money from, by entering their U.S. mobile number or email address.
5. Confirm the amount and hit send. If they’re already enrolled with Zelle, they’ll typically get the money in minutes. If they aren’t, they will be notified and can follow a few simple steps to complete the payment.

*Some banks allow customers to enroll in the Zelle app using their online or mobile banking username and password.

They had the audacity to tell me I couldn’t change my card info after it was stolen and told me I had to wait 4 months and then the agent stated she she didn’t have a supervisor to speak with and told me I had to call back to speak with a different agent after waiting 25 mins to speak with her!!! The absolute worst app I will NEVER use them again!!! It’s far better out there!!

Client tried to pay me via this pathetic excuse for PayPal. Suspicious to begin with - if he hadn’t warned me ahead of time... but then the damned thing wouldn’t accept my card. NO THANKS! I’ll stick with Square or PayPal.

- iMessage app please. I like idea of sending money in a text message - Remove the restrictions on the number/amount of transactions that may occur using this app. - contacts should automatically be imported and indicate whether that person is using zelle

It may totally be me, but i have never experienced a more difficult service to use before. I love the idea of sending money to people without a charge. But registering your phone number and theirs and then needing to do email...the app is great but Zelle itself, wouldn’t recommend.

Tried using this app several times to send money to zelle users and it says they do not have zelle. I’ve used there phone # and or email and still the same! I switched to zelle cause it’s free, also thinking it was just as easy as the cash app but nope, I have to ask those individuals to request the money or use the cash app. VERY INCONVENIENT!

Unusable on two counts: 1. The app makes you enter your phone number so if you already have your phone number tied to a participating bank (I do), you can not sign up for a second bank under a unique email address. 2. They don’t let you tie into a business account. The app won’t tell you that, it’ll just keep saying you entered your debit card info wrong. You’ll have to call in to customer service to find that out. Deleted.

This is the most user unfriendly app I have ever dealt with. It won’t work with my carrier, can’t login because it says my password isn’t verified. Can only send or receive a certain amount of money. Don’t know who developed this but shame on you!!!!

Kept rejecting my debit card when I tried to set it up. I called customer service and they had no way to put in my bank aba and account number to receive a payment instead and told me my debit card for my bank doesn’t allow me to receive money on it. Can’t connect to PayPal either. Suggested I open another checking account with a bank they actually partner with. Nope!

If your bank has a business partnership w zelle I would use this. If they do not, I would not. In the case they do not, any problems with zelle transactions are on YOU, not your bank.

A friend sent me $1k more than a week ago. She has a record of it. I have a record of it. There’s no customer service rep to get on the phone to find out where it is. Just got the runaround punching in numbers on their phone line, forwarded to their website where I also can’t speak to a person. Was finally told via email 3 days after reporting the money missing to Zelle to call my own bank. My bank can also see the Zelle transaction but can’t figure out how to put the money in my account. I spent 30 minutes on the phone to “open a claim” with my bank that will take “10 to 45 business days to resolve”. In the meantime both me and the sender don’t have my money. No one asked for or needed this app to plug into our banks to transfer money. I would guess their plan is to hold onto it as long as they feel like to what? Gain interest on it? Rack up overdraft fees for people who need their money while it’s just floating in cyberspace with a 3rd party somewhere? Kick rocks, Zelle. No one likes you.

I keep trying to login and all I get is an “error” I placed the correct password and phone number, I have even changed my password twice. Nothing seems to work.

I used VENMO until I tried ZELLE. ZELLE is hassle free, secure and fast! It takes less than 19 SECONDS for money to be received once it has been sent. The receiver doesn’t have to transfer it is done immediately. I love this product.

I do not have a cell phone and therefore the app will not allow me to use it. Someone sent me $5 to test and make sure it works, but it will not let me receive it because all I was able to use to verify my account was my email and nothing else. This is stupid because not everyone has a cell phone.

Absolute worse app EVER!!! Customer support is a joke. You’d get better help from a fence post. You’ll explain the same thing over and over and over again and their response is the same as it was the last five or six times it’s very frustrating to keep your cool when it seems like you’re talking to a wall it seems as easy as put your phone number and create a password you’re good to go it is not that way believe me when I tell you this I’ve enjoyed using Venmo and of use Venmo for years along with almost every other person I know I tried this because a friend Recommended it and it has been just a terrible experience save yourself the headache.

The app has no status on your money. Is it deposited in my account-who knows. Will it be transferred to my account?-who knows. The app says that my wife sent me $xxx dollars. That’s it. I associated my bank via my debit card. That’s it. I can request money from friend or pay friends. There is no button to request that the money is transferred to my bank. Called customer support. 3 tiers of listening to options and listening to how features work. Eventually the real person told me to wait 1-3 business days, explained what a business day was, twice! But support could not tell me if the process had started or how to trigger a deposit. I assume it is automatically sent to my bank after I associated my debit card but this information is no where. Poorly thought out app and support system.

My checking account was hacked and I had to change accounts (same bank just new #) In the app it would not except my new checking account which totally works and is just fine on my side lcalled 10 times Over the period of one week and was on hold 40 minutes each time Customer service is condescending and short cuts me off and puts me on hold for 40 minutes only to come back and tell me sorry they don’t know what’s wrong Long story short they basically told me I need to go somewhere else 👍🏼 so I will! TERRIBLE Customer service department Even tried emailing with my case ID only to never be contacted

I have had this app for a while now got a new phone and tried to update my new number and it didn’t work well I call only for them to tell me I can’t even use the app and it’s frustrating because I had no problem with it on my previous phone and it was so convenient for my fiancé to send money and the bad thing is they had no explanation as to why I can’t use the app so that made it all bad for me very useless app if you can’t explain issue to customers .

The app support is HORRIBLE if you lose a card or change checking accounts you are screwed. After being on the phone for an hour speaking to 4 different people my account was manually blocked indefinitely. Two step verification, email password reset options and etc exist Zelle. For the service you offer it is clear you are far behind on technology.

Zelle will waste your time on hold and you'll still never get your money through them if you don't bank with their preferred banks. Don't give them your debit card info because you won't get your money anyway and I hear they retain this information. It's just is one problem after another with them.

The app works but the integrity is a big issue - customer service is poor and difficult to connect. There is no easy way to revoke a mistake in payments if it happen. Additionally data integrity is poor based on early reports and safety of ones info is an open question

Just downloaded this App to pay someone who was going to sell me concert tickets. The person sent me a PDF of the tickets and I sent the payment via Zelle. I tried to cancel the transaction once I found out it was a scam an hour or so after I submitted the payment because the tickets were fake but they said it already went through and I would have to contact my bank. Also, I tried to email support and it rejected my email saying I had already sent 5 inquiries which is completely not true because I did not send any (possibly the scammers submitted 5 inquiries on my behalf because they had my email address from the app). They also do not give you the option to remove the debit card you put on file via the app or online. You need to call them to have it removed which is a slimey tactic. I will be reporting them to the BBB. Please do yourself a favor and do not download this app. Stick with Venmo.

I “purchased” tickets using the Zelle app and it turned out to be a scam. I immediately called customer service and they essentially told me I shouldn’t have sent a stranger money. I totally understand that, and that was stupid on my part. However, when I asked if they could flag or maybe look into the account the man said no. The entire call was a whopping minute and 2 seconds. SO what I gathered from all of this is Zelle seems to not care about potential thieves using their app, and they would rather profit than look into a serious problem. I definitely do not recommend this app due to my experience with customer service and how they didn’t seem to want to report a fraudulent account, or even offer an explanation as to why they wouldn’t and/or can’t. I would suggest others don’t as well since, in my opinion, they are willing to allow these people to do what they’re doing instead of looking into who is using their app for scams. Thanks guys!!

There is no buyer protection so if you get scammed there is nothing Zelle will do to help and they tell you to tough it out so be aware!
