Featured by Apple: "New Apps We Love" & Featured on CNBC!

IRL is where your friends and interests come together, which makes for interesting friendships. Do more of what you like with the people you like, in real life.

With IRL, making plans is chill and informal. You decide what you want to do, and invite the people you wanna bring with you. You can figure out the wheres and whens in chat; you can also add polls and remind your friends of the deets later.

Get inspired with personal recommendations based on your interests and location, and find cool things to do together, no matter what you’re into.

Exchange anonymous ‘noms’ to nominate each other for what you’re good at. Better recognize!

I love this app and I think everyone should try it
Dont follow my lead on 5/22/2018
There’s something weird about this app. It gives me bad vibes. It send scam messages to you and your friends after I gets your number SO DON’T GIVE IT TO THEM!!! also if you try to blow the number I comes back and hits you with another text with the number only a digit different!!!! I hope it doesn’t give my phone a virus!!
stop the spammers on 5/21/2018
They won’t stop texting me invited to install their stupid app. Nothing but scammers trying to get your full contact list, don’t waste your time.
iiioeastmannn on 5/21/2018
You are not able to use this app without granting full access to your contacts. The repeated nominations I’ve received don’t even make sense. Seems like spam, a scam, and a major invasion of privacy.
Rip off
I'm not a bad person but on 5/21/2018
This is LITERALLY a rip-off of TBH, in my opinion nobody’s even very honest, they just say whoever.
Exploitive Marketing Tactics
yaboi97 on 5/21/2018
This app is built to be a social virus, right off the bat it hides spamming 10 of your contacts to join the app as a “who’s is...” quiz. On top of that the entire apps purpose can just be accomplished by texting people, considering that it really only connects you and your existing contacts together.
Really fun app
lisabbonnie on 5/21/2018
This is a really great app that you can use to compliment the people you know. They deserve that. Thanks irl!!!
Privacy Infringement
Big boy small on 5/20/2018
This app allows people to give it your number so it can send you texts you don’t consent to. It allows the developers to crowdsource phone numbers of people where they like it or not. I never would have given this app my phone number but that’s okay because my “friends” did it for me. They have my first name, last name, phone number, and where I go to school. Somehow this is worse than the Cambridge analytica scandal just because I didn’t agree to have my personal data given up. The developers of this app have created an absolutely ingenious way of harvesting phone numbers without people’s consent. I don’t know how this got into the App Store, but it’s a blatant infringement on people’s privacy. It allows the developers to download your whole address book without the people whose numbers you’re giving out’s consent.
Tired of getting notifications for this app
Steph731 on 5/20/2018
I have gotten a handful of notifications in text form from this app saying “someone said something nice about you” or so on. I am not in high school or college. I am not interested in the app and do not want to receive notifications. Even when I respond NO, I still receive another message from a different number, it’s just ridiculous.
Accessed contacts without permission
Kadeey on 5/20/2018
I did not give the app approval to access my contacts but it still accessed them. It made suggested friends and said that were from my contacts list. BAD!!!!!
Spam, will take your contacts and send “compliments” without permission
Litreeo on 5/19/2018
Just like “Gather” before it, this is nothing more than a scam to harvest contact info from users. Don’t download it. App store is flooded with good reviews that are probably just from developers.
love it!!! on 5/19/2018
i think it's a great app to use!
Its alright
Asian•3• on 5/18/2018
I keep getting messages that people have given me a review and I dont like my name going around in the internet. I watch lots of shows about crimes and stuff and sometimes i get worried. This IS NOT a horrible app. Im just worried about my safety thats all. If you guys are able to remove my name from the app then pls respond and Ill send an email of my name. Thanks you.
Interesting app
Nascar Kurt on 5/18/2018
So far, so good! Still learning about this new app. Very interesting!
Haxonek on 5/18/2018
I’ve gotten spam texts from this app leading here, and from what I can tell it just automatically spams your whole friends list without regard to the user. I would never recommend this app, as it’ll likely just humiliate you.
Kat2141 on 5/18/2018
I never allowed you access to my contacts but you did it anyways, that made me really mad and you’re app is stupid just let you know! Have a nice day.
mickeymichaeljanes on 5/17/2018
First impression... soopar dope
miniahn on 5/17/2018
First I received a text from an unknown and untraceable number containing my first name with a link to ‘see what someone said’ about me and contained no other information about who sent this or anything else. I don’t know about anyone else but that is extremely unsettling and makes me very uncomfortable. I signed up for the app and saw that only two distant friends of mine were utilizing this app and was immediately sketched out by the text I had received prior. Also, the app crashes every time you try to edit your profile. I don’t think I’d recommend this app to anyone.
Very weird
andrew rab on 5/16/2018
Don’t know the person who sent this to me and don’t know how they got my number makes me think there is something up you can’t see who sent it to you till you give up your information?
Why IOS?
Adroid??? on 5/16/2018
It’s a nice app, but why aren’t Android able to download. It says it’ll come soon, but by the time it is out, people won’t use it as much and it won’t be as trendy. If you could come out on Android sooner that’d be great.
So this app is bull crap
🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵 on 5/15/2018
I’m going to give it 3 stars. The app in concept seems like a good idea. Except for the you know part where you get a random text inviting you to join. And the recognition had nothing to do with me. Obviously just combed through one of my friends contacts and sent them all messages.
Too much of invasion of privacy
nonameryeetyeet on 5/15/2018
As much as I understand that in order to know the activity of nearby students from your school, you cant skip that step. I want to be able to see and do stuff without allowing an entrance to my contacts or location. I like the idea, but the fact that more than one person wants to be able to do such things without giving this information, and having it not be resolved, is quite unsettling. Please do ready my review and see my side of the story. If there is a simple non-sketchy reason, then I will satisfied with the app, but until then, I am not quite satisfied.
ghfgxbchdtxgh on 5/15/2018
I love irl I can interact with my best friends
Boring app
Kevin_qi on 5/15/2018
Yes the concept of this app is great, allows you to make plan and stuff, but what’s wrong with just texting friends and make plans that way? Cut off the middle man?
Sir_Xirek on 5/14/2018
Title says it all. Don’t send people text messages, even if the person who picked me “allows” it. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was some poor sap who didn’t know what they were doing. If someone wants to tell me about an app, (which I doubt they would, no app is that good) THEY can text me about it. I don’t want a text from the app or its developers telling me about the app. It’s invasive. And don’t give me the crap you’ve been giving other people, such as “we’re sorry you feel this way,” because what you are doing is, BY DEFINITION, spam. According to Merriam-Webster, spam is “unsolicited usually commercial messages (such as emails, text messages, or internet postings) send to a large number of recipients or posted in a large number of places.” It’s not me “feeling” this way, what you are doing is textbook spam. If you REALLY want to do something like that for marketing, do it through Facebook since people send requests on there all the time. I’ll ignore it anyway, but at least it won’t be as invasive as sending a text message. I bet I won’t even get a reply because they know I’m right, but don’t threaten me by saying that these are “reckless” claims like you did with that other guy. It just makes you a bully, and you’re trying to bully him out of telling the truth. Get your app off the App Store. I’ll be reporting you to Apple regardless.
Nice 👍🏻
Evanguitarguy on 5/14/2018
Kinda confusing at first but you get the hang of it pretty quick. I like it. You can set dates and plans with people and idk how to explain it rn but you should get it.
Neallium on 5/14/2018
I shouldn’t have to provide access to my location or contacts.. Not only is it sketchy, but why should I? You don’t even give a sneak peak or a general idea of the app.. Honestly who cares if CNBC has done a story on this.. you make it seem like their opinion matters or something. This is a ‘scam’ and its just trying to gather information on people to sell to a 3rd parties.. “if you’re not the customer, you’re the product” Smh.. Apple, how is his even a thing. I bet almost all of these reviews are fake and that just devalues every other review on your platform. This is stupid
drea067 on 5/14/2018
It is one of the best things to give someone a good compliment
Your uncle Dan on 5/14/2018
So sketchy. I got so many texts saying I was nominated?? For something by someone. I still don’t know what those were. I cant even get into the app until I agree to the ridiculously worded privacy policy. Not a fan.
Nice idea, kind of scary
Maxi actor 12345 on 5/14/2018
Look yes I'll admit it's a nice idea. A lot of people seem to love the app and the creators seem to care a lot. Recently I've been getting notifications saying I've been complimented or nominated or such. They also have been using all forms of my name that I use. However, no one I know has this app, I don't have this app, so how did my number get to them? I tried getting the app to see how it was but it wouldn't let me do anything without turning on my contacts and location... no thank you guys So once again, lovely idea but it's kind of creepy it has my number... that I never gave it
Leahmob on 5/14/2018
I can’t get my 5 number code.
Spam App
Haas_71 on 5/14/2018
Somehow got a hold of my phone number and kept spamming me with texts saying find out what your friends nominated you for and then once I downloaded it there was only one notification that was a generic welcome message from IRL themselves. Apps like this are a disgrace and the people behind them as well. This should be removed off the AppStore by Apple for solicitation and immoral invasion of privacy and personal information.
Mariah72 on 5/13/2018
not youuuuuuuu on 5/13/2018
irl is a cool app. it’s cool to see who gets nominated!!
Kitten16$ on 5/13/2018
It’s really cool I honestly will use this app a lot.
Isaac Dubbink on 5/12/2018
I love this new app it’s so great
It’s awesome
c@mbam on 5/12/2018
Let’s clarify it’s awesome and I love it and it’s a great idea just instead of shuffling your contacts it should just have them listed out for noms
Best app ever

👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼o ma gosh this app is the best now I can invite friends to go anywhere on dis app porfecto 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
987987xxx on 5/11/2018
Just trying to get all your info and all your contacts to trick them into getting the app! So bad! You contacts will be used and they will message your contacts without you even wanting it!
Jdkshgsyshd on 5/10/2018
It’s pretty much the same thing as “TBH”. Both apps are pretty boring.
Travyscotty on 5/10/2018
Scoopity scoopdy poop
Please change grade and school selection
Greymousey on 5/9/2018
Hey, so far I like the looks of this. There is one thing that should be addressed, that is the ability to change school and grade. Next year I will be in a different school and different grade and I would like to be able to change that, thank you.
Thumbs down 👎
thisappsucks-addi on 5/8/2018
The app keeps freezing on me and kicking me off. Tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it and restarting my phone but it didn’t help. I can’t even get to the point to where I can fully set up my profile on there.
Fix app
:) yamintoby on 5/8/2018
I got a text from this saying someone voting for me and to check out who is voting me I would have to get this app and I did but every time I get on the app it keeps getting me out of the app so I can’t get on the app and can’t check who voted me. Can you tell me who voted for me since I can’t get in the app ?
Not good, keeps shutting down
FaithHappy on 5/8/2018
I just got the app and I have a perfectly good phone. The app let me make an account very easily but then I try to go and use it and within 10 seconds of being in the app it always shuts down. I even restarted my phone to see if that would help... it didn’t! I really would like to use this app but it won’t work
brinsue638583772 on 5/8/2018
The app crashes literally every time I open it
Overall good👍🏻
awesomemary13 on 5/8/2018
This app is really fun to invite friends and to nominate people but I wish their were more noms at a time because it’s very fun too see what other people Think about you!
I did not consent to this app having ANY of my information.
Graceclem on 5/7/2018
This is the sketchiest app I have ever seen. You get a completely anonymous message about a “nomination from a friend” that forces you to download the app and agree to give all of your information (contacts, location, school, etc.) just to see who out of the people you know was foolish enough to send you a scam. All it takes is one friend agreeing to give out their contacts for IRL to have your phone number without the consent of the owner of the number. This is a breech of my privacy and whoever sent me the nomination’s contacts’ privacy. Not to mention there is no “skip button” to go ahead and see who sent you the nomination like they’ve said in previous comments and in order to get in to the app you have to agree to their terms of service that is essentially just one more step to them having permission to access your information. Based on all of the other comments I’ve read I’m just going to get an email link in response, however I do not even want to directly give my email to this shady company. I thought that after all of this business with companies stealing information that people would be smarter, but I suppose I was wrong. Moral of the story kids, if you have a device that can get this app, you have a device that you can easily message your friends to make plans. Do not give this app access to all of your “friends” and contact’s phone numbers.
lordcurtis on 5/7/2018
Love this app it is so fun to nom people and they don’t know who nomd them
I’m confused please help
rubyslavinnnnn on 5/7/2018
So if I invite someone to do something, will they get a notification that it is from me? Or is it anonymous? I don’t really understand this app, and I want everything to be clarified please.
