iPhone 4s Stuck in Auto-Update Loop!

I have had this app for YEARS and loved it! Today that ended. I opened the app and the screen was hijacked by an update notice which redirects me to the App Store. When I try to update, there's no update button. Just open. My OS is frozen at OS9. So not only can I not update, but I can't continue to use the old app which was working for me! Shame on you Starbucks! I just lost $20 and 95 stars because I can't get into the app anymore! It's like being robbed!
Ridiculous app !

I’ve been trying to switch my account from Canada to United States for over a month. I even sent emails and got no reply. It’s as if there’s no time for one simple request because it’s too complicated. This review will change stars as soon as I get my account switched over. Plus I spend a ton of money on Starbucks every month and I am going to stop until it is fixed.
Unable to use app without upgrading my iOS

I can no longer use the app because the developers have forgotten about iOS 9 users. Yes we are still out there in the world. I guess this is a good opportunity for me to quit my Starbucks addiction. I shouldn't have to upgrade my entire phone just to scan a barcode, and the price isn't worth it without points and free rewards.

I absolutely love this app! It’s easy to use and navigate, I can reload my Starbucks card, pay for my orders, and tip the baristas with this app. I can order in advance for pickup, and I can view the expansive menu in advance. I enjoy receiving the notifications of different promotions and new products being offered. I wish all of my iPhone apps were this easy to use!

Most of the time I like this app, at the present time, I am not able to order from my phone and need to use my iPad. Also recently my birthday was here and I got a notice to get a free drink or item but when I when to use it ( a day after my birthday- did not need to go to the office on that day) it was gone😢. But like a said most of the time the app works ok 👌.

I really enjoy a nice Chai Tea latte....however, I will have to limit my number of visits due to the price...too expensive:( Further,the new shoulder bacon sandwich should be called ‘heart attack’ sandwich. Same as the chicken bacon biscuit sandwich. This sandwich is yummy but after hearing the negative review on the news, no more for me. Health is too precious.
Great app

The app is great and it makes life so much easier when ordering. Also great for keeping track of your payment methods (gift cards) and not having to worry about finding the physical card. The only suggestion/complaint I have is that there isn’t a notes/special instructions option when ordering. That and maybe a create your own drink option.

All employees are very professional, if they make a mistake they right away fix it.Very friendly everyone there. Only problem is parking.I believe Possible workers of day care are parking there. You could possible check on that.I last time I was there parking full and few people inside of Starbucks.
History Feature Fix

Please fix the History feature so it goes back to immediately updating like it was doing in May!! I hardly ever carry cash & now always feeling super guilty about not being able to tip the amazing baristas!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE fix this so it updates history as soon as the purchase is made so we can immediately add tips! My app history literally has not updated since May 😭

Since the update, it won't work on my iPad. I can't update to IOS 10 and the older version won't open. Sad. It was a daily app I used.
Balance amount refresh after payment is delayed

Your card balance doesn't update immediately after payment. Sometimes it doesn't update until the next time you go to pay, so it's not clear how much of a balance you have left. I swear it also will refresh twice in one session and end up double charging as well.

Wake up. Get dress. Order your favorite drink and then drive to starbucks. Pick it up and walk out without waiting on lines. Great! Now an idea is to add feedback of service. Was the drink ready on estimate time? If not, how long did you wait. This will help provide matrix to managers of stores on their performance to improve customer service. Because yes I have been to a store where they forgot to do my order where the label was already printed.
App order trouble

While sitting in a Starbucks I was trying to order for the first time, the app kept saying it couldn’t find a Starbucks. I had to wait until I got home to find my Starbucks to select the store and order. Not easier to order via app (4 me).
Super convenient — when it works

I order the same drink from the same shop, and yet every morning, Starbucks makes me tap through like 5 pages before I can place my order. In the mornings when I'm rushing, this is cumbersome and unnecessary. The Cava app, for example, has my last order pop up as soon as I open the app, much faster and a much better experience. Also, the app is often slow loading pages and never seems to be able to find this same store that I order from, which probably is a carrier issue, but I would prefer if the app just defaulted to the last store so I didn't have to wait even longer to place my order. And in some cases, the app never finds the store, and/or just shuts down altogether. All this said, when it works, it’s great.

Tipping, Receipts, and History broken

***Updated July 2018. I don’t carry cash but I like tipping baristas when the job is well done. Tipping has been broken in the app for awhile now. Notifications that a receipt / tip is available go nowhere. They open the app but there’s no receipt and no way to tip. And no order history to be found. Honestly what they need to do is let you set a tip % if you want to and forget about it or override the tip if baristas mess up your drink.
Weird pop ups

While I appreciate the love, I do NOT appreciate unnecessary pop ups. “Do you love Starbucks app?” Yes “We love you too” or something like that. Why you interrupt my day like that? Just now it asked me for a rating. That’s unacceptable. Enjoy your well deserved rating.

It is so convenient to be able to order and breeze in to pick up! I do with the app had a picture of the location as a reference. I have a few locations that are literally across the street from each other and have gone to the wrong one. Also why can’t we order online at Target and grocery locations?
Online ordering needs to be more stable

I placed an online order as I prepared to pull out of my driveway. Having received an order confirmation screen, I drove to the Starbucks store to which I placed the order. When I arrived, no order was ready because no order had been received. When I consulted my phone from which I placed the order, I discovered a white pop up error window advising me something went wrong related to a network error. I’ve worked in information technology for 27 years. Don’t issue an order confirmation without a handshake reply from the server.

I love this app but it should add stores they have inside other stores since those are the ones I mostly use. Also their should be an option to pay in person.

I just updated the app. And as soon as I click on it. It closes, and goes to my home screen. I am really bummed out because I can’t sue my gift card anymore. 😔 I hope it is fixed soon 🙁

awesome app! I love how I can order online and just pick it up whenever. that comes in handy if I’m in a hurry or need a quick coffee fix. however, my app has been slow to load and crashing recently, so I’m posting this review in hopes that the problem will get fixed. thanks!
Stars not accumulating

After July 4th 2018, the star rewards just stopped accumulating for no apparent reason. All my purchases were accurately being recorded but no stars associated with them were added despite being eligible as a Gold Member. After I emailed the company they remotely added the stars that were earned but didn’t fix the problem as the app continues to omit star rewards despite acknowledging purchases.

Locked out

It's ridiculous that Starbucks has recently chosen to lock users out of the app if they do not have the very latest version of the OS. My phone is a 6S and is stalling out at the newest upgrade. So a week or two Starbucks started recommending to upgrade for the enhanced experience. Nowhere did they ever say upgrade by X day or you will be locked out. Suddenly on the way into work I can't order coffee, cant add funds to my card, can't do anything. The apple update is crashing. What a mess. Not everyone has the latest greatest iPhone. You should have a simplified version for those who don't. Until then I don't have the time to waste standing in line for SBUX products. At least I'm saving $15 a day for my family order.

Favorites notifier

I use this app daily and often do mobile orders from the bus during my commute. Because this is Seattle and there's a SB everywhere, I "favorite" the locations I use most often. It would be great if you could provide a toggle to turn off that notifier on the lock screen when you're near a favorited store; I've never needed nor used it and it is both annoying and battery-draining.

I going to many star bucks place for take tasty nice drink I going there some place not nice no happy purchased. Fulton Street Star bucks the guy made my drink but not enough that Obviously, the amount of drink is too little for the cup than the average. Maybe.. 81th street Columbus Avenue Star bucks staff the guy The terrible attitude is bad. Slow work in frustration. I wonder why we have to purchase unhappy place’s drink.

The app is really good and convenient, but you cannot opt out of receiving messages/offers, even if you turn them off in the settings menu. Everyday I have a message from Starbucks that I don’t want. Frustrating

Removing the $10 option for card reloads is snobby and cheap. I’m deleting the app once I find some way to use the $25 I had to fork over this morning. This issue was resolved. Thank you!

It’s an ok app but I would like to be able to just click on the store I want to pick up from that I have saved on my favorites!!! I don’t need you to find me a location I already have my preferred store that I love going to!
Store locator and flavor juices

I have been using the app recently and it seems not to be able to locate the nearby stores near me. It doesn’t allow me to pick the stores I normally go to and decides to locate a store 15-20 miles away from me. A suggestion I would like to add is that the app now you are able to add juice to the teas but there is only one option. Could you please add the strawberry juice that you have in stores.

This app is the worst for updating one’s account on the money side. Sometimes can take days. Says you have xx amount so you pay but, Nooooo! It says there’s not enough for a small purchase so now it’s reload time.

I know there are sugar-free or reduced sugar drinks available, please add them to the App!! I can’t even create my fav sugar-free Caramel Frap as the app won’t let me remove ALL of the caramel syrup (leaves one shot when I try & replace with sugar-free caramel). If this is too hard to change, at least add a “note section” to the order. Keep up with your low-carb, kept, diabetic fans please!!!

I've loved having the Starbucks app for so long but now my app isn't even available or usable after this latest update because it requires IOS 10 or later. I do not have that and probably won't ever have that. The older version should still be available to those of who do not have IOS 10 or later. This pisses me off.... Starbucks is no longer convenient to me now!!!!!
