This app is amazing and has really helped me track my foods and my macros.
Continues to amaze me
KWJohns on 5/22/2018
I downloaded this app to count calories. It does it, and it does it well. If you can’t find the food via search, you can: scan the barcode, input the nutrition data manually, copy from your friends, look up full recipes via websites (and it will count the calories automatically), etc! Oh and... bugs get fixed very quickly. It seems like there’s no end in sight for how often this app amazes me.
Constant Lag and Crashes
AndrewJC95 on 5/22/2018
Enter one meal then crashes. Rinse and repeat, completely trash app.
Great tool for diabetics
Laymard on 5/22/2018
I am a Type II diabetic. I struggled for months writing down what I ate to stay within my limits for sugars and carbs. That became so laborious that I quickly abandoned the process and gained weight as my blood glucose values rose. I have been using My Fitness Pal daily for a month. It is so easy to use especially if a specific meal or food has been entered. I have been within my allowed values daily and have lost 10 pounds. I strongly recommend anyone with weight issues or who is diabetic to try it.
Too many clicks
Deeyo12 on 5/22/2018
Waaay too many clicks to get to the scanner. Unless I haven’t been able to find something that is there after over a year, there’s no way to just scan an item to store for future input without logging it into the diary. Sometimes, like when you’re shopping bulk at the market, you just need the information for later. I don’t see how that’s possible. Also, of course MFP has a huge database of foods, but using whole and fresh foods to put together recipes is extremely cumbersome. For example, a homemade granola bar recipe could have a lot of hidden, unnecessary calories, but it’s a lot of trouble to enter everything in the correct measurements to equal one serving. I feel like I should enter an exercise count after each recipe, it’s such a process. Taking 10 minutes to enter ingredients from a home cooked meal does not incentivize me to use this app anymore. And importing recipes does no good, because since every person is different, every recipe has to be modified in some way, usually over several ingredients. Looking elsewhere.
Love this app!!

I have never been one to watch my calorie intake. This app has made it so easy. Through the first week and already lost lbs.
Good, But It Needs Fixing
Spontaneous on 5/22/2018
The app itself is the best in what its intended to do which is to track food intake; the problems are mostly in the functionality while using it. Lately I have noticed that my phone heats up at an accelerated rate when I use the app, and my battery dies just as fast. The app also becomes extremely slow once this occurs. This was not an issue for my phone until a few months ago, but it is now a constant frustration to log anything into the day once my phone reacts this way. Another issue I found was a bug that causes the app to log me out of my account a couple times while opening it. Even while writing this review, it has happened once again. For the record, I have an updated iPhone 7, and MyFitnessPal is the sole culprit for my phone overheating at this time. I know that there have been complaints about the advertisements in the app so that may have something to do with these issues. They already cause my music / podcast to randomly shut off while I have the app opened. I still use the app religiously, but I am wishing for better days when all the bugs and internal problems are crushed.
Great App!!

Very impressed with all the things fitness pal can do! It makes keeping track of what you eat so much easier.
*used to* be great
Hinggygddrgh on 5/21/2018
I use this app daily. It has been paramount in opening my eyes to what I actually eat and how active I am. Recently however, it is sooooo slooooow. Maybe a result of the new update? Not sure. In the meantime, I am using an alternate app. Sorry my fitness pal. I’ll come back if you can track one meal in less than 10 minutes...
Keeps me honest
pjohns3 on 5/21/2018
Need help tracking your food? My Fitness Pal makes it easy. The articles are motivational and I’m sure I’ll reach my goal with the help of this program.
Bob0258 on 5/21/2018
Liked it, but battery usage is extremely high, even with background activity and notifications turned off. There are many great features, but it’s not worth cutting my iPhone 8 battery life in half.
Crashing at startup
collegestudent2013 on 5/21/2018
This app is not great. It was merely OK for a while, but I tried deleting some annoying posts in my "activity feed" (who needs that anyway?) and the app suddenly crashed. Now it won't start up again. I even reinstalled it and it still crashes on startup. I guess I messed up my profile data somehow by deleting those posts. So, first, never delete things off your activity feed if you want to keep using the app - at least on iOS. Second, I'm disabling my premium subscription, since the app won't load anymore. I tried to find a way to contact support, but their website only redirected me to user forums. Unfortunately, I'll need someone from MyFitnessPal to fix this since the profile data itself is corrupted. Last thoughts as I write this up: it feels REALLY crappy to lose months' worth of weight data with progress pics to go with it. And my food log, too! I would love to have a way to recover it...
J Pechter on 5/21/2018
Lots of lag when scrolling or switching back to this app from another app. Sluggish performance.
Great tool for weight loss
Erikatred on 5/21/2018
I’ve been a member for years. I stopped using it for a long time and just came back to it. All my recipes are still saved and it makes tracking my calories so much easier! If I could suggest a future tweak to the app; I’d be willing to pay for membership if I could customize my daily calorie count to do a zig zag diet. Changing my daily goals to equal a 3500 calorie deficit over a week.
so helpful!!!
Bailey Tova on 5/21/2018
being accountable for what I eat is the hardest for me. being able to track my food and exercise helps me feel more in control of my health!
Used to be great..
brieannnn on 5/21/2018
Not too sure what’s going on, but MFP is SO SLOW. It also uses up so much of my battery. I go from 100% to 60% just from trying to get my food logged. The app is constantly freezing up and crashing. I’ve deleted it and reinstalled it, but it doesn’t seem to help the issue.
ScarletFever1971 on 5/21/2018
The Apple watch and MyFitnessPal do not know how to communicate. I have so many third party apps to help bridge them and sometimes it syncs but mostly it doesn't. This app is useless to me if it can't sync my workouts through my Apple watch. Troubleshooting topics are hardly covered on this issue.
My Fitness Pal works
cabaird on 5/21/2018
The app keeps me honest with myself about my fitness and food. I use it with Map My Walk for easy uploading of fitness data.
Super Disappointed
klrklrklr3 on 5/21/2018
This app used to be awesome. It was free and offered all the features in an ad-free interface. I found the old UI to be much better and easy to use. I really used to love this app. But given the negative changes and the new price tag of $50/ year I’m passing.
S@HomeAngela on 5/21/2018
Myfitnesspal is a system that Keeps It Super Simple! A user-friendly app that has a lot to offer even without buying the upgrades. I recommend it for keeping up with food, tracking exercise, accessible restaurants and barcodes for Logging the food you eat not just guessing based on food names. The app also lets you log your personal recipes and exercises. I have used the system for over 900 days then had my data wiped out trying to sync it to another device (my error) so I am starting over. But I plan on another 900+ days because it helps me stay in track.
Very helpful!
DeRuArCu52 on 5/21/2018
Excellent app that provides important daily nutrient goals and data. My 24 Hour trainer recommended it and I really like it!
Greatest app

I am a type 2 diabetic and with this app it not only makes calorie counting easy but when you type in the food you are eating it also calculates carbs and fats
TJDeck on 5/21/2018
This is the best tool I have found for helping me to meet my fitness goals
Food tracker is great!
DC Panda Bear on 5/21/2018
Love the fact that I can scan the product and it will automatically feed in the nutrition facts. Saves me time from entering it in manually. And, it also has the nutrition for restaurants! As with any step tracker, I wonder how accurate it is. Activity calories doesn’t seem to be right so I had to manually add my 7 mile run in order to see I got a 500 calorie credit for the day. For this, I took off a star.
singdizzy on 5/20/2018
Syncing causes issues. Meals I’ve renamed turn to ??(1), ??(2), etc. Food within meals shift around from meal to meal, or an entire day of food will become one meal. When using the steps feature with Apple Health, it will not account for calories burned. I had four miles in one day and MFP displayed that as zero calories burned. I got the UA Record app and connected it to MFP + AH. Record displayed burned calories, but did not sync this to MFP.
Great app but...
Bymx66 on 5/20/2018
Great app but not sure it’s working correctly. I have an iPhone and an Apple Watch and everything goes to the health app but wasn’t tracking things correctly my watch and health app would log say 8,000 steps but only show 5,000 on this app even after hitting the sync. So I also downloaded the UA record app now everything reads the same for steps and exercise time but it’s now giving me the negative calorie adjustment which I would think would add to my total calories for the day instead of subtract those from my daily goal. So my calorie goal is 1660 which usually I stay under that but once it subtracts my steps then it puts me over my calorie goal? None of the apps seems to work great together and I had better tracking when I just used my phone with only the MyFitnessPal app. Something doesn’t seem right with everything together. Please fix or help me figure this out
Awesome App

Love it...very helpful
Pushing ads to Premium users
T Till on 5/20/2018
A big part of why I pay for Premium is for an ad-free experience. That’s $50 a year. The news feed is so full of BS ‘blog posts’ straight from MFP. There are at least 2-3 of them between each of my friends updates. I have now completely stopped using the feed. I would expect this for the free version, but now for Premium. One star until we have an option to disable them.
Can’t search for new food items
vlvt2 on 5/20/2018
I am not able to search for new food items to add to my diary. When I select the search icon it starts searching for restaurants. Do not need that option.
Used to be great
Flummmoxed88 on 5/20/2018
Absolutely the slowest, most laggy application I use. I remember when this was the best calorie app there was and now, with all of the ads and lag it’s essentially useless unless you log food on a desktop.
Slow and annoying ads
theflamingv on 5/20/2018
Lately I’ve been getting these ads that completely interrupt what I’m doing on the app and any music I have playing. They repeatedly show up even when exiting out. They don’t even load properly I just get a black video player. Also the app has been more battery hungry and slow in the past few months.
Used to be great
jgoody97 on 5/20/2018
What’s going on here!! Has trouble syncing. Ruins the speed of my phone. Always crashes. I used to love this app. I’m thinking about switching to a different one if this keeps up. Needs to be addressed

App Keeps Crashing
Ry_guy_33 on 5/19/2018
Using the app on iPhone X. App will randomly freeze and then crash. Happens multiple times a day
Worse W/ Each Update
nchighlandscot on 5/19/2018
USED to be a very useful app. Now it’s painfully slow & drains my phone’s battery. MFP support is a joke. Will be looking for something else.
So slow!!

I loved the app when I first started using it but it’s gotten so slow lately I don’t even want to use it. Please fix this!!!!
It was better
SirCadian on 5/19/2018
Too many ads and articles.. and as of today it logs me out every time I close the app. Is this now a webpage or an app that I can use 3-5x a day to track? Please fix and get rid of the ads

Needed an app to assist with weight monitoring and calorie intake. There is so much more offered in this app. Don’t know how I could accomplish my fitness goals without.
