I loved this game the moment I played it. My favorite is the Lightening Round. I never thought I would surpass the score listed on the scoreboard but persistence payed off. I actually reached 600,000 and was thrilled. I left the game for a few months to play other games and when I returned to continue where I left off at 600,000 it only registered 500,000 plus points. I don’t know how that happened but now it gives me more of a challenge to reach my previous score. You need to focus very hard and click quickly before your time runs out. I wouldn’t trade this game for all the games I downloaded to my Mac computer. I’m a senior citizen and believe me this game is a blast. I love it when the board lights up like I won a won the jackpot on a slot machine. I highly recommend this game for all ages. It may at first look not seem a challenge but give it a try and you will be pleasantly surprised. Pierre
Awesome, just like Bejeweled 2
waddle2gracious on 12/14/2013
This is a classic Bejeweled game right here. It’s fun, puzzling, and, oh yeah, amazing! The only thing that I am not so fond of is the “Butterflies" game mode. How do you get butterflies out of gems? Well, anyway, I would’ve liked to see a puzzle mode, like Bejeweled 2. And also, the quest mode, those aren’t really puzzles, they are just quests in my opinion. In conclusion, awesome game! Why not $14.99?
Amazing Game

Needs an update
LvAgent99 on 6/20/2013
THis is a great game, but for $20.00, there needs to be some updates and new levels and versions added. I've had it over a year and there have been none. After while, it gets boring to do the same game over and over.
one major issue
mcvouty on 5/19/2013
This is Bejeweled. If you already know the game, you know how addictive it can be. Maybe puzzle games aren't your thing, and that's fine too. if you have ever spent an afternoon playing this in any previous form, you can rest assured that this version is still an enormous time waster (in the best possible way). My only problem is with the hovering hints. When you are trying to quickly survey the board for a move in a timed round and a big blocky "hint" pops up to tell you what a special gem does for the hundredth time, it is VERY annoying. I have tried to figure out if there is a way to disable this, but I'm stumped. Please, PLEASE allow me to turn this off! I've been playing this game for years and I know what these gems do. I don't need hovering distractions!
Love it
bizarrocat on 3/22/2013
I have to give this 5 stars if only because I spend so much time playing this. I like the 4 new secret modes, and the quest mode is fun (but way too easy). I do miss the secret mode from Bejeweled 2, which had the gems alternating falling upwards and backwards. A suggestion for the next version: bring back the tutorial mode, and add more difficult levels to the quest mode.
Cammoria on 12/11/2012
This is one of the most expensive games I have purchased , was well worth the money. I have played all the different sections of it. Has several levels of badges gold , etc. for each section. The music is really nice, to me it didn't get irritating. It has enough variety ,timed , just levels , and the quest section was fun. I would recommend it highly to anyone who enjoys this type of game.
Amazing Game

I love this game so much!!!!! I'm amazed at how far this game has come The one thing that would make it more awesome is iCloud syncing with Bejeweled on iOS and a Blitz mode for FB users Other than that, keep up the amazing work, PopCap!!!!!!!!
Never gets old!
Phantom5251 on 10/20/2012
Bejeweled is such a classic and never gets old with quite a few hours of replay value! However, now that Mountain Lion has brought us Game Center and Facebook integration, I would like to see an update that gives us that within Bejeweled 3, or even a version of Blitz for the Mac would be awesome as well, without necessarily having to go directly into Facebook all the time.
It's fun and challenging
dumplingdreams on 4/17/2012
I've had a great time with this. It is really fun and challenging. I have made it to 100% on the extra games, which required a lot of practic, but STILL cannot get up to level 10 of classic in order to get the badge for that. That's what I mean when I say it's challenging. You really don't want a game to be too easy. This is a really good game.
Completely Surprised
Faragaut1945 on 3/9/2012
I've seen this game at the top of the mac app store charts for some time now, I've read all the glowing reviews (on this site & others), but I just couldn't see paying 20 bucks for what is essentially a match 3 game. When this went on sale for 10 bucks, I held my breath and clicked buy. I instantly thought, 'I'm going to regret this…'. WOW, was I wrong, after opening the game and playing 2 hours straight, seeing how much content Popcap managed to pack into a match 3 game….and the beautiful graphics….and the wonderful music/sound effects….I just had to post a review. I've never been a fan of these kind of games (more of a RTS, TD fan at heart), but took a chance because of all the positive press tied to Bejeweled, and it is much better then I could have imagined. The way it takes a basic puzzle game premise, adds a very professional visual & audio presentation, and finally through its varied gameplay modes adds a layer of strategy that makes Bejeweled 3 the best of its kind with immense crossover appeal. While I still don't think I'd pay 20 bucks for this (my rule is never to spend more then 5 bucks for a download, due to the lack of a physical product with the options and support that come with a physical copy), I broke my own rule and paid 10 thanks to the temptation of a sale price and don't regret it for a second. Great quality with hours of entertainment value.
Missing something….
melissaswa on 2/15/2012
The graphics in the game are great, but it is missing Blitz, which is what I love most on my iPhone. It would be nice if it was even offered as a seperate app. It's not even an option for Mac. If you love the game alone, then this is the app for you, especially since the new game modes are actually really fun. If you want an app to play Bejeweled Blitz, save your money. I'm glad I got it for $10 for a Valentine's day special price and didn't spend $20 on this game.
Disappointing graphics
picc47 on 1/3/2012
I am a recent Mac convert. I ran Bejeweled on my PC, and the graphics were spectacular. I would expect the Mac program, at twice the price, would be even more pleasing. This is not the case. The graphics here look cartoonish and are far inferior to the PC version. My other complaint is that when advancing to another level, you loose the placements from the previous screen. This was not the case in the PC version. If you had three in a row, that was duplicated on the next screen, albeit sometimes with different squares. But the patterns remained the same. Overall I am very disappointed with this version.
Excellent game
2nova on 12/22/2011
I have vision problems and am always on the lookout for games that don't require speed or have busy interfaces. This app has something for everyone, timed games that require speed - and games that don't. Some of the music is absurdly catchy and there's plenty of 'achievments' to try and win. My only quibble with it is that I can't get to stop giving me hints if I don't make a move faste fast enough - the settings to not show hints seem to not be taking and I just hate them, distracting. Anyway, good game - thanks People Who Made It.
How come I lost all my scores ? !!!
Sameh Badawi on 12/5/2011
After alot of achievement in the game it just shows that i'm a new user and ask me for my name and all the scores are gone !!!!! I'm really disappointed …… is there a fix for that?

One of the best (and most addictive) games I've ever played!! At $20 it may seem a little expensive, but definitely worth every penny! I highly recommend purchasing this game!

Very Fun!
StupidFresh on 8/29/2011
Pop Cap always seems to make their games "fun". I wasn't sure what else could be done for Bejeweled, but the mini games they've added are great. For example, in one game making a vertical match colors that "column" gold. Making a horizontal match colors that "row" gold. You have to completely color the entire grid gold in 2 min (I think that's right). I didn't think I could do it, but I did! That's not even one of the more inventive games… most have time limits, a cap on the number of moves, or special gems that you have to match to remove from the board. That sort of makes it sound a little mundane, but it really isn't, and there are others mini games that don't fit into any of those categories. Honestly, I've just gotten into the game, and have only unlocked a couple of modes… the point is that it is "fun" and so far perfectly executed, no glitches and a beautiful interface / sound. Really glad I bought it.
Freezes Lion?

Extremely Fun and Helpful
TheTsarina on 8/18/2011
Not only am I extremely addicted to this game, but I also find it very helpful for relaxing with zen mode. Anyone who is stressed out or, like me, suffers from an anxiety disorder will definitly benifit from this. Playing zen mode with the breathing module, mantra, and soothing sound eases my anxiety and relaxes me much faster than many apps I've tried before. It's also a great way to wind down after a rough day and relax you enough to fall asleep. I HIGHLY reccommend this!
Hot hot.
juubee on 8/16/2011
I love Bejeweled, but I can't play this for long on my brand new MBA because it heats it up pretty fast. It can be really nice and cool, and after like 10mins of playing.. it burns up. ><
Solid improvement on a puzzle classic
iheargood on 8/16/2011
I, like many, was a bit thrown off by the sticker price. But as a Blitz addict, I wanted something I could play that wasn't browser based. Bejeweled 3's gameplay actually surpassed all my expectations. I've found myself playing for far too long (but that's a personal failing). Diamond Mine, a "hidden" game turned out to be the puzzle configuartion I enjoy the most. It combines the timed pressure of the Blitz format with rising platforms underneath. Do I wish it cost a little less? Absolutely. But the amount that I've ended up playing it inbetween my workload assignments has more than equalled what I paid for it. Cheers, PopCap!
Lost Sound
TomB Mac mini on 8/8/2011
This game is fun but if you play long enough the game craps out and loses it's sound. My score is 1,373,370 right now, it was back around 1.1 million the sound just turned off, no sound effects, no music. I checked the setting sliders and everything should be normal.
jplflyer on 8/3/2011
This is my first exposure to Bejeweled. It's easy to spend far too much time playing the game.

When i switch through apps then returen to bejeweled the toolbar is stuck there and doesnt go away! Update this app!
Froze Twice!
spittman69 on 7/24/2011
I'm a Bejeweled lover, but this version froze my entire computer up twice within the first hour! I couldn't even "force quit"-had to shut down manually both times, so maybe my old mac can't handle all the bells and whistles....time to get my money back!
Love it!

Very addictive, definitely worth the money. You should get it!
The best
zmlapqowksmxncjdie on 7/13/2011
Of all of the additions to the Bejeweled series, I think this one brings the most to the table. This game runs incredibly smoothly, on my MacBook Pro, and I don't think I've ever been this addicted to any game ever. Graphically, it is more than just a cut above the rest, and in terms of gameplay; it undoubtedly trumps all of the competetion. I don't think there is a negative thing to be said about this game.

All We can say is Awesome...Awesome graphics...Awesome music...Awesome..Awesome..Awesome! Worth the price.
Afterthoughts on 4/14/2011
Like most people who play this game, I really love it for the Blitz mode. I have Bejeweled 2 with Blitz mode built in on my Windows machine and love it, so when I saw Bejeweled 3 here in the app store on my MacBook Pro I was quick to spend the $ on the premium priced newer version expecting great things (why shouldn't I - or we - after the success of Bejewelled 2?). I was highly disappointed! The only reason I wish I hadn't purchased this game before doing my own research online is the MISSING BLITZ MODE - there is no online multiplayer support in this game (as of version 1.0) and for me, being that Blitz was my favorite mode, that makes this game worth no more than half of what I paid for it. As other users have pointed out, there IS a full screen mode IF you take the time to check your options, but the graphics and gameplay are basically the same with different names for the modes. The closest thing you're going to get to Blitz mode with this game is "Lightening Mode," but without the online multiplayer support or ability to connect to Facebook (which was all the rage for Blitz to begin with), it's kind of pointless to try to beat out your score and the like... Who gets personal gratification out of that without being able to play against and gloat all over their friends? That being said, it's still Bejeweled and it's still a fun game with pretty graphics and addictive properties. It's just lacking the functionality of online support and I think that's a pretty stupid and backwards move on behalf of PopCap. Bring back Blitz and online support!!
Addicting & Fun

I can't stop being embarrased of how much time I spend on this game. But it's just that good.
If you liked the older versions you will love this one.

I was a little apprehensive about spending $20.00 for the new version, I bit and I wasn't dissipointed. If you liked the old version you will love this one. One of the best casual games out there. Thanks Pop Cap you guys did a great job!!!
nyquildreams on 2/20/2011
This is the game everyone has played and has been stolen by a bunch of other developers. However this game has added new game modes that are awesome and stay fun for a long period of time. I have played for 25 hours and still playing this game its extremely addictive.
Wow. That is some fun stuff.
Babybull22 on 2/5/2011
I bought this game for my girlfriend, and I ended up getting hooked on it. The bright, colorful graphics mixed with great variations of a simple game idea really make this a fun title. Yes, they have had previous versions that are cheaper, but you really can't go wrong with this one if you do not already own a previous version.
Ejb12 on 2/3/2011
One of the best games currently in the app store.
Fun diversion!
Not Now on 1/26/2011
This game makes a nice diversion when I want to relax with my MacBook; graphics are beautiful, and I like the badges and unlockable extra play features. Took a while to get used to not being able to move diagonally (just started playing Bejeweled but used to other similar games), but that just makes the game more challenging, as well as trying to play strategy to set up future moves. Definitely looking forward to a version for the iPhone especially the Poker mode; that's become a big favorite!

Worth the price
Apple fan 480 on 1/12/2011
Coming from someone who has never paid over $4.99 for a game app: This one is worth the price if you're a Bejeweled fan! A nice addition to previous versions is that players can track progress toward various goals in many different categories (eg. score, quests completed, new modes unlocked) based on mode of gameplay. This gives users a reason to keep on playing - as if they need one with this game! It's addictive enough in its most basic form. The new features make it worth the price, though. Great improvement in overall game, beautiful graphics on the bigger screen. Two thumbs up.
Does Not Disappoint
peonprincess on 1/12/2011
I have Bejeweled 1 and 2 and also play Bejeweled Blitz from time to time, so I was excited when I saw they finally released Bejeweled 3. I was ready for something different with this version, and it did not disappoint. I love the brilliant colors and graphics and all of the new levels and ways to play. This version has the best game modes and levels, and though I had read on here that someone was complaining it was not available in full screen, it certainly is! You just have to choose that in options. The voice of the man announcing your accomplishments throughout the game is so interesting. Every time I hear him saying "Awesome! Fabulous! Excellent!" I keep thinking of Darth Vader for some reason. What an interesting voice this guy has. But the game itself is so colorful and breaks out of the old boring mode of limited play levels. It is so funny to earn badges and see all of the spectacular graphics changing for different modes and levels. I think they've really knocked one out of the park with this version. I have a 27-inch Mac and I cannot get over how beautiful everything looks and how clear it all is. It is like a high def Bejeweled - everything is so smooth and clear! I installed without a hitch and I've been playing for about an hour and a half now and it works like a charm. I am loving this version and I highly recommend it to any true Bejeweled fan. It's just as addictive as the other versions, only better.
Totally addictive!!
all320 on 1/11/2011
I have been a fan of Bejeweled 2 from the moment it came out. It really never occurred to me that it could be made better. How wrong I was. From the first moment I played Bejeweled 3 I was hooked. It's hours of fun. Great graphics. I don't really know anything about the sounds, as I always play with them off. I'm not sure why previous reviewers were under the impression that it's not full screen. All you have to do is go to the options menu and check it. Simple as that. So far I've only played on my Macbook Pro. I better it's even better on the big screen of my iMac. This game is WELL worth the $20. If you were a fan of the previous version of Bejeweled, then you'll love this newer version. If you've never played before, then get ready for an experience like never before. Dare I wonder whether the future holds a Bejeweled 4?
Good! Awesome! Espectacular! To a point...
harrymfa on 1/10/2011
Bejweled 2 for the Mac was in life-support. Let's face it: This game is a mobile game ported to the desktop. The Mac version was eclypsed by the mobile version and the superfun Facebook Blitz app, that was also integrated with Bejeweled Mobile. So Bejeweled 3 comes to save the day. Well, yes and no. Bejeweled 3 has new fun modes of play, because, seriously, the classic mode with its arbitrary "no more moves" was really showing its age, and right now, it's completely unnecesary. There is even a mode of play called "lighting" that emulates the Blitz mode. But, for a price way higher than the mobile version, this is really Bejeweled 2.5. To be Bejeweled 3, this game needs something more than new play modes and a few new jewels. It needs multiplayer, online capabilities, social media integration. Essentially, it needs to have some features now available in the mobile and Facebook versions. Once that upgrade arrives, I'll rate the game its fifth star.
musicpixie on 1/10/2011
Seems like we've been waiting years for a Bejeweled update, and now I know why. I am extremely pleased with this version - it's visually phenomenal, gameplay is smooth and intuitive, and the mini games are quick and enjoyable. The backgrounds and transitions are simply stunning, and just wait until you see the fiery Flame Gems, the glowing Star Gems, the psychedelic spinning Hypercubes, and the jeweled Butterflies! I have the resolution set on Ultra and haven't noticed any performance hits. I've played this for five hours so far and can't find one negative thing to say. Buy this game; it's worth every penny, and you won't be disappointed. I hope to see an iPad port soon!
