Turo is a scam ! I used for the first time and will not be using ever again , you are better off going to a REAL RENTAL CAR PLACE! Turo is very unprofessional, I had the worst experience ever , when I got the car it looked nothing like the picture at all ! The picture had a huge crack in the windshield , and also a huge hole on the floor in the drivers area , if you looked close enough you could literally see right through it ! But that’s not even the kicker ! The car owner was supposed to drop the car off at LAX for us , and didn’t , instead we had to take a shuttle to a hotel , and walk 8 mins in the heat with all our bags to get the car , good thing it was day time because if it was night time and I was alone I would’ve been terrified ! The car owner gave us the car half full when it said it would be full !! So we used the car , the day it’s time to bring it back , my drop off time was 11 ! I got stuck in LA traffic because of a terrible car accident that had happened ! I contacted the car owner and told him and he said as long as it’s back by 4 your fine , so I was pleased , so with him being so generous me and my bf took the car to the gas station got it washed cleaned out and filled the tank up ! We drop the car off by 2:45 ! The car owner even gave us a ride back to the airport ! My card was charged $75 !!!!!! Because we rerun the car late !!!! After the driver said it was fine , it’s so sad how people will scam you out of money and I told the app about it and they did nothing , they took the drivers word and didn’t care for mine when I had proof to show them ! So with that being said please don’t give them business you will regret it
Host’s that are abusive and lie
Lying hosts on 6/23/2018
My experience my second time using Turo was incredible but this was overshadowed by my first experience. Turo does try to resolve issues but this only works when the host is reasonable. The first time I used Turo the host Matt Dave had a Lincoln MKZ that was a dangerous vehicle to drive. It shut off twice on the highway and the host was completely unresponsive leaving us stranded for over 2 hours, unable to get another car. He then had my review on him removed because I used profanity. This is understandable and this was my mistake. Turo was helpful throughout this process but the host continued to lie and say I stole his car key. Turo said they would have to process this claim unless I had a video proving I left the key in the car. I guess I should of remembered to videotape me leaving the key in his car while I was stressed out waiting for him to return my calls while I was stranded. I don’t think Turo is a bad company but until they figure out a way to keep host’s that are abusive, lie, and don’t care about the renters off of Turo, I can only give the company one star.
MAXIMUM INTEREST-Likely scammers.
jj molser on 6/23/2018
Turo is a scamming website at its best. It couldn’t be any better at scamming. They have mastered the achievements in scamming. They over charge you and they release and sell your card information online for gains. I’ve tried turo and they make it all good for the first few weeks possibly month, And right after that it’s a flawless scam. They have high rated renters they use as decoys. Every possible person I rented from ends up changing their locations, to lesson the chance to be caught. Definitely taking in consideration for filing a law suit. Under attempt of scamming my credit cards and releasing my personal information to the public. Be aware!!!
Disgusted

Generally i do not write review but a month ago i had an issue with Turo and their customer service department has still not come up with a resolution for me. About a month ago i traveled to Visit family and decided Turo would be the best option for renting a car. Boy, was i wrong. The car i received had a battery die 4 times the 3 days i had it. When it first happened, i contacted the owner of the car and he told me i must have left a light on. I said i guess so because honestly why else would the battery die? Well, it continued to happen over and over. At first AAA recommend i drive around and get the battery charged for about an hour. Then when i called them for the 2nd time in 24 hours they recommended i leave the car running all day because once a battery test was done, it determined the cell had been dead for awhile and it needed to be replaced ASAP. When i informed my driver, he said i must be mistaken because he took the car to the shop days before i rented it. How convenient right? I said i wanted to reach out to customer service and he said he would. Days went by after the return and nothing. I come to find out he did not contact Turo and i have been dealing with them for weeks now and they have not been able to rectify or accommodate me for my trip. I have requested multiple times for a phone call and i haven’t received a phone call. I have requested some type of reimbursement and nothing has come. All in offered is a 25 rebate the next time i use Turo, even tho i have started multiple times to them i have learned my lesson on using a service where an everyday person is responsible for the state of the car & my safety. It’s very unfortunate i had a bad experience, but a $400 trip should not have have resulted in 4 jumps, 3 Calls to AAA, an hour sitting every time i called, driving around adding unnecessary miles, and leaving the car running ALL DAY which resulted in having to put gas in it constantly and then a month later having no confirmed answer from customer service.
Ridiculous cleaning policy.
Subeo0402 on 6/23/2018
Please beware that you may have to pay for the cleaning fee up to $100 and $10 processing fee. This is our first time to use their service To be honest, if you rent a 7 seats car for 5 days, there is no way you can return the car as said in their cleaning policy. I suggest they should charge the cleaning fee upfront, as AirBnb always does, or never charge at all. We cleaned the car, but we did not take pictures as proof. However, we never expect to clean the car to like new condition. I disagree to pay the amount, and they threaten to send it to collector. With amount of money I have to pay and this kind of service, i would pay a little more to get a Hertz car.
Beware of cleaning policy and make sure take pics before & after
Hnntran on 6/23/2018
I was charged up to $110 for a cleaning service for small dirts and crumbs dropped around the floor mat and seats. So disappointed. There's no sign of warning at the beginning. The first time is also the last.
Unaware of deposit
dfgghha on 6/22/2018
This was my third rental from Turo and I was unaware that there was a deposit being charged as there wasn’t one the 1st two times. Customer service wasn’t very apologetic about the new policy and not very cooperative. So for all the new refers just make sure that you pay attention to the very high deposit that you will be charged
Random deposit fees?!
FINE CHYNA on 6/22/2018
I LOVED the Turo app.. but not anymore. I went out of town recently and figured I’d just book a car thru Turo.. but why when they now charge a 400$ deposit! Why would you do that?! I literally went to Avis and paid 46$ a day and kept my 400$ in my account where I could see it. Wasn’t the point of Turo to be more affordable and convenient? This policy is going to cause a loss for a lot of business. Good luck.
Great vehicles! Easy to use!
triedturo on 6/22/2018
Booked a couple of different times with this app. The photography and design is really great. The selection of vehicles in metro and travel destinations are amazing. Had a great convertible Mercedes in Hawaii while traditional rental is all mustangs. Great experience. Will definitely use again and again!
Turo is pretty awesome.
Coming Up Cars on 6/22/2018
Recently used Turo for the third time i think. The process was smooth and VIP with a pickup and dropoff curbside at the airport. That made things so amazing. I will definitely look to line that up if i can as I travel to cities in which i need a car.
Terrible Customer Service
bpburke10 on 6/22/2018
When I called customer service for help setting up my account they were not helpful in the slightest. I was transferred to three different departments and they told me to try to figure out the problem on my own and if I can’t figure it out call them back because they did not have a solution. I then questioned the customer service representative‘s logic as why I would call back if they did not have a solution. She then transferred me to her manager who said that they will find a solution if needed. My sister had a horrific Turo experience! I feel responsible as I referred her to Turo and talked the company up. Turo forgot to contact her to let her know that her car was no longer in service as it had gotten into a crash. She was at the airport with her three kids when she found out she would not have a car for the week long trip. As she attempted to talk to customer service they attempted to give her another card that was $300 more than the original car. After a longer conversation they stated that somebody would pick her up from the airport. This car was located in Hillsboro Oregon. My sister spoke with the person that was supposed to pick up her family with the new car. The person informed my sister that she would not be driving to the PDX airport and informed her that Turo has told customers that they would get picked up by people who have not agreed to pick up at new locations. So, my sister and her family were stuck at the airport without a car. In addition, my sister declined the “new” car as she did not have any means to get to Hillsboro Oregon as she was stuck at the airport and Touro attempted to charge her for the car as she was a no-show even though she canceled the car. This impacted our entire family as all the aunts, uncles, and grandparents tried to find a same day vehicle within our price range as Turo was no longer helping us with their “services”. This was our first family vacation in over 20 years. Turo, I was becoming your biggest fan. I was talking so well of your company to a lot of people. Now I’m just going to tell them that it’s a roll of the dice and that your customer service is absolutely terrible. But maybe that’s what you’re going for.
200 dollar deposit
Man Man11 on 6/22/2018
They have a new rule that requires every rental to have $200 deposit. How stupid is that? Now you put yourself right in the ring with regular rental places like enterprise hertz etc. that was my whole reason renting from you guys. I rented every week. Do you think I have 200 every week along with my rental. No
Worst Customer Service Ever
siliconestate on 6/22/2018
Customer service is very disorganized and incompetent. The same issue will take multiple calls and still not get resolved. They do not keep good track of support tickets between representatives. You can have your issue resolved with one person only to have to escalate it to another. Worst experience with any customer service ever
Perfect
KaliKI333 on 6/21/2018
Turo is the best company I have EVER used to rent a vehicle. I was skeptical at first, however, with a little trust you can make it happen, especially if you’re on a tight budget like most of us. My visits to my children were possible because of this service. Everyone should try it at least once and restore some more hope in humanity.
Great App
Johnhenkesuckss on 6/21/2018
I had an awesome experience using Turo and would definitely recommend it. A persons experience is largely based on who they rent from so be careful in that regard.
Wondering app

Love Turo fast simple easy enjoyed every moment
300 deposit
Oteedollarsign on 6/20/2018
The Whooooole point of Turo was easy rental. Why add a 300 dollar deposit when i can rent from Enterprise for less the rental price and less the deposit. This will turn a lot of ppl away from Turo. Many ppl have already complained to me that they don't have the deposit money. Less customers, less Hosts.
Bug fix!
Jeeeeffffff on 6/20/2018
I can’t specify the time of pickup. The time picker is broken, which means I can’t select and reserve a car. (Note I love this app, and will change my review to 5 stars pending fix).
Bad costumer service worst communication with hosts
ffhfbxjr on 6/19/2018
I have rented a car that I end up returning a day early so I supposed to get a partial refund for that but the owner didn’t agree and the customer service didn’t do anything about it. I have rented another car for my birthday and the host cancel on me two hours before the pick up time and they still didn’t do anything. There is a lot of cancellation from hosts for this sort of reservation and the management knows about it but they don’t kick him out. Be very careful when you rent with this people the insurance is very tricky and not reliable reservation
Great app. Making money while saving money also
Bobztunes on 6/19/2018
Couldn’t be better when I make some extra money doing what I like. Driving cars and meeting great people. Everyone loves my Lexus GX470. I love the praise , and the money. I saved money renting a vehicle in Portland. Renting at a car rental co in Portland is ridiculously expensive . Turo is saving me money and I don’t have to wait in any lines. Thanks Turo!
Big mistake
mrblog on 6/19/2018
I made a big mistake listing my pristine sports car with Turo. The car which was a 2012 but like new all over with no marks or scratches came back damaged with a deep gash in the rear corner. But since it’s less than 3 inches they won’t cover it. It’s over $1000 to get it repaired.
Great way to rent a car
arethereanynicknamesleft127 on 6/19/2018
I was able to rent an electric car for a week for a cost comparable to a compact sedan from a typical rental company.
Best app ever
king kreame on 6/19/2018
Excellent! App best I’ve ever seen!
Awesome idea needs search function
dnyton on 6/19/2018
I used turo for a big day date with my wife. She has a specific car we are looking at buying her and we wanted to search just for that as we had seen one on there before but no search function that was easy to find I am not patient with that kind of stuff so if it’s there, oh well really love the idea and was very good experience
Drastic policy change
aarondsmalls on 6/19/2018
I’ve been using turo for more than 3 years with no issue or problem. Today I land in another city and state and attempt to book a rental and I’m informed of a $300 deposit needed, which was never the case before, with a hassle like this it’s easier and more convenient to just rent from chain rental companies. Places like enterprise only charge up to 20% of rental costs and for a deposit, and for my case a 68 dollar rental would be about 13 dollars for one day not a $300 hold . Unless this practice changes there is really no benefit to use turo vs traditional rental services
Great App! 💜
Lee lee Voss on 6/19/2018
I’m always on the app looking for a fun car to rent! It is so easy to do and to stay in contact with the host of the car! Definitely will recommend a friend to download this app!
Very convenient and I’m hooked
cnicole1919 on 6/19/2018
I usually take Lyft but recently learned about this app and decided to try it out and I am hooked! Finding and booking cars is simple, there’s a person with several cars I like near me, and pick up and drop off is quick and easy. For a the price of what I’d spend on a round trip for a Lyft, I have a car for a day. Can’t beat that.
Surprisingly Great
Ashleynnnnnn on 6/18/2018
While I was searching online for a company to rent from I stumbled upon Turo. I’m under 25 so everywhere I looked it would be an extra $300 to rent with underage driving fees. I read really mixed reviews but I decided to test it out anyway. My first two experiences were absolutely perfect. The people were kind and understanding when life happened. My last experience was subpar but since I’ve had such great experiences otherwise I still think Turo deserves a good review.
Affordable and Convenient!
MJK Spokane on 6/18/2018
I’ve used Turo for 2 different trips in 2 different states and I am highly impressed. I love that I get to choose the car I’m going to drive. With car rental companies you get the car they give you and they’re usually pretty beat up. Plus I save money which makes it even better!
Refunded me then charged me again
kwwwwabe on 6/18/2018
Turo used to be a service we used very frequently being that my husband and I don’t have a car. I had rented a car and then cancelled it immediately. I was told by customer service that my money was going to be refunded which it did. But then later was taken out again. I had to call customer service 3 different times, gave them various pictures of my bank statement showing that the money was never fully refunded into my account until they finally told me they couldn’t refund me again because it looked like they had refunded me. They went on saying they need an exact time when both the transactions went through in order to give me the appropriate refund. What a TERRIBLE service! I give them more than enough information in order to give me a refund that was well deserved on my end considering that I had only rented the car for a mere 3 minutes The guy on top of everything was rude, interrupted me countless times. By far the worst customer service I have ever received.
Full of dishonesty and fees
Dwmak on 6/18/2018
Never have a met a company more riddled with fees, extras, and uncaring people as Turo. After two back to back poor experiences, I struggled to get in touch with anyone. The emails I got were cold and unhelpful. On one of my rentals I experience mechanical trouble and couldn’t reach anyone. They charged me full price for the rental even though I had to change my plans to bring it back a day early for servicing. On the second rental I ran into trouble on the road and needed to extend my rental and couldn’t reach anyone. They charged me $225 in overage for 4 hours on a rental that was only worth $40/day. The customer service is horrible. The cars are run down and dirty with no quality minimums. Pay the extra few dollars for a real rental company. Steer clear of Turo.

redz208 on 6/18/2018
This was my first time using this app/company. I went to Miami for a long weekend and wanted any kind of convertible for my stay. It was easy to set up an account and profile. Easy to find the car I liked and easy to set everything up. The owner of the vehicle was right on time, in fact my plane landed an hour and a half early and the owner came right over. Before the scheduled time. The vehicle wasn’t in the best shape inside but at the same time, the rate was cheaper than most of the others. More importantly the 2007 Mustang convertible ran great! I will use this again.
Great new way to Rent-A-Car.
ASpence0891 on 6/18/2018
Love this app and service. Very easy to use and Rates are very reasonable. Although, I wish there was more vehicle options in my city. Had to drive to my intended destination to get a decent rental.

I like making money by renting out my car when I don’t need it. TURO makes this very easy.
Search feature is horrible.
Copello2581 on 6/18/2018
I want to search for a specific make and model. It shouldn’t be difficult to change how the search feature works. Everyone I talk too has the same complaint. The main reason people are interested in Turo is because they can rent a specific vehicle unlike using a rental car agency where you get a similar vehicle to what you reserve.
Great way to make a second income.
joshua339 on 6/18/2018
Review from an owner. Turo is a great platform and with the right commitment can become a second income. If you want to rent out your car, turo are the people to do it with. With this is mind, it does require a significant commitment on your end. Things like cleaning the car in between back to back rentals, finding time to get the car serviced and been available to meet people at different times of the day and at different locations mean it takes up more time than you might think. The more available you are the more potential you have to make cash. You also get to meet a lot of cool people that rent the cars for different reasons.
Happy Happy

First experience. I’ll never rent a car the traditional way again. Pick up and deliver were easy. Siervo wife was friendly and courteous. Car was clean and perfect.
Deposit
trendingtopic31 on 6/18/2018
I am HIGHLY disappointed with this deposit bull crap! I’ve been renting from Turo for a while until BOOM unexpectedly without ANY notice we have to make a $400 deposit. I’m better off going to a regular rental place to rent a car. For this I’m NEVER using Turo again.
Stay Away
Nick C. in Portland on 6/17/2018
My most recent bad experience with Turo was when I took an Uber to a confirmed renter only to find out that the person and the car did not exist. I spent 45 min on hold with the emergency line before being told I would receive a phone call from a booking agent to help me with booking a new car. I never received a phone call. I took Uber back to the airport to rent from a regular car rental place. On my way back to the airport I receive an email asking if I still needed assistance. I responded that yes I would like assistance booking. I didn’t receive any assistance but I did book another vehicle and set it up to have it delivered to my hotel in the morning. So instead of getting a normal rental car, I took an Uber to my hotel. As I lay here in bed I checked my email and saw that the vehicle I had scheduled to be delivered is no longer available. So now I have to Uber back to the airport in the morning super early so I’m not late for my meeting. I’m also out $200 in Uber. I was offered $50 by Uber for my trouble. It’s just not worth all this.

%25 Turo's cut is too much when you have a bad renter
prius host on 6/17/2018
I've been with Turo for three years and l feel that they take a big cut. I rent my car for $600 a month and I only pocket $450. One time I rented my car with 4 Michelin tires and when the car was back there were only 3 Michelin and a used after market one. I didn't notice it immediately, and I wasn't able to determine which renter blew my tire and replaced it with a cheap used one.
So Easy

The first time using Turo. Loved it!! It’s so easy to use. Will definitely be using Turo in the future and tell all my friends about it.
Great Service, App needs work
wgG_ on 6/17/2018
Turo is an awesome service. It is or go-to for car rentals. The app however, could use some rework. It's just not intuitive. I have 3 main gripes: 1: Seeing as the vast majority of users are renters not those sharing their vehicles the app gives way too much prominence to sharing your car (house that in the menu drawer or something). 2: It is impossible to check out early (c'mon) 3: the app is slow and inefficient Again, love the service!
