The AWS Console mobile app, provided by Amazon Web Services, lets you view resources for select services. The app also supports a limited set of management functions for select resource types, so you can use the app to support incident response while you're on the go.

EC2, S3, Route 53, ELB, RDS, AWS Elastic Beanstalk, CloudFormation, DynamoDB, Auto Scaling, and AWS OpsWorks customers can use the app to browse resources and view configuration details, metrics, and alarms. Management functionality is supported for EC2, RDS, AWS Elastic Beanstalk, DynamoDB, Auto Scaling, and AWS OpsWorks. Service Health Dashboard notifications provide real-time information on service availability, and users with billing and CloudWatch permissions can monitor total estimated service charges.

The AWS Console mobile app requires an existing AWS account. Simply create an identity using your account credentials and select your region in the menu. The app lets you stay signed in to multiple identities at once. Note that if you sign in with an AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) user account, you need to use the account alias that was included in the email address from your administrator. If you use AWS Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), we recommend using either a hardware MFA device or a virtual MFA on a separate mobile device for the greatest level of account protection.

We regularly release updates with new features. Tell us what features you need and how you would use them with the Feedback link in the app's menu. We're listening!

Useless without Role Switching
I am Ode! on 5/22/2018
Proper security measures with IAM are to create different roles used to switch from your user account to manage and access different accounts and services. I use two different roles to access 99% of what I need to do at work each day and this app leaves out the most basic usability of this scenario. Amazon has been aware of the request to add this feature to the app since 2016 and possibly earlier but has not updated it in years. What gives Amazon? You have over 50,000 employees, can you not spare one single iOS developer to add in role switching to this app!? It’s as valuable as garbage without it!
Needs update to support iPhone X
rjcisown on 4/26/2018
Mostly a great app. Management of servers can be done easily on mobile. It would be great if it was easier to manage servers across regions without needing to recall which region is which, and to manage multiple AWS accounts. (Eg accounts for testing and production, or personal and work)
Complete wast if space!
MDEDXB on 4/25/2018
It is useless and view only. And it is not even good view. I don’t know how AWS managment accept to release such an app!!!
Better than nothing
Tagggggggggg on 3/28/2018
It’s better than nothing, but the functionality is minimal and the menus are clunky. The worst part is the authentication though. When my session expires, the app asks for a 2FA token. But my 2FA token doesn’t work, so I use my phone for 2FA instead, which works, but then brings me to a different screen also asking for a 2FA token. This time, my 2FA token works. How does this make any sense?
Proves why native mobile apps are hard to maintain
Bribread22 on 3/27/2018
This app does a good job of displaying the status of different services such as EC2 and S3. However, it does not let you modify any of those services. You can think of this as a “read-only” version of the AWS Console. Amazon folks, if you stumble across this review, please consider giving users the ability to also “write” to their services, not just view them. Even if the app showed the site being mobile-friendly (e.g. responsive) that would add a tremendous amount of value to this app and I am confident that more people will use it.
IPhone X view
Siddharth Vellore on 3/16/2018
Please update this application to iPhone X resolution support!
Can’t add root user account if MFA turned on?
cl7070 on 3/10/2018
Seems like it won’t accept MFA and sending a challenge to phone/email fails.
Needs workspaces admin section
6demonbag on 3/7/2018
Need ability to manage workspaces without resorting to logging in from web browser
Needs an overhaul
Bion Howard on 3/2/2018
This app could be amazing
No role switching
Alex Howard on 2/6/2018
Not being able to switch roles with my IAM user to manage multiple accounts makes this pretty useless. If only the console would work properly on a mobile browser, I'd be happy with that.
iPhone X
Jaden VanEckhout on 1/17/2018
Does not support the larger screen of the iPhone X
Only really lets you view things
tim.kite on 1/16/2018
I can *view* quite a bit with this app, but I can’t *do* almost anything. The main thing I’m missing is the ability to edit properties of EC2 instances. I can view them, but I can’t change security groups or instance types, for example, so it’s next to useless. If the regular page were more mobile friendly, this app wouldn’t be necessary. The app is quick, and has 1Password support, so if all you need is quick access to see status and maybe restart something, it might work for you. It just won’t work for me.
Poorly packaged hybrid web app
KanjiLizzard on 1/13/2018
This is app is barely usable. The graphs are non-retina. For dynamodb you can’t even get the same graphs as online - you can’t compare your current provisioning level with your current usage. Switching between those two graphs requires 5 clicks! Amazon, you can do better. The website on mobile is way better than this app.
Not very useful
llsqc on 12/20/2017
It's too slow because of the HTML design instead of native
Not optimized for iPhone X
Nightenticer on 12/19/2017
This app has not yet been optimized for the iPhone X.
This is a feedback
CallMeNaughty on 10/25/2017
Once you press the account setting option on the iPad (topmost option in the side menu), there is no option to go back without an operation. Kindly correct that.
Love the app, does everything I need remotely
infowork4food on 10/19/2017
I love the APP and use it often, but .. the is always an ugly but. But, it needs an UPDATE, as many of AWS's NEWER features are not supported; ALBs, SG modifications, S3 creation and S3 access modification, trusted advisor, fuller support for cloud watch metric and alarms. == Please understand everything that is supported does work 100%, I'm looking for additional features added in 2016, 2017 etc. Thanks
MichaelA007 on 9/11/2017
I don't understand the bad reviews, I was able to shutdown my ec2 computer, and even view my s3 objects. Maybe the bad reviews are from people that are not logging in with root access...
Needs more features
MSIII3 on 9/10/2017
Shows I have no ELBs so I'm guessing it's looking for classic ELBs(?) - needs application ELB, target group, and ECS support
What's the point?
CaptSaltyJack on 5/19/2017
Can't even restart or shut down EC2 servers. Can't do much of anything. Google Cloud iOS app blows this away.
Mikesixtysix on 5/10/2017
It doesn't see my ELBs even though they exist.
Getting better.
qbn on 5/8/2017
Desperately needs keychain and Touch ID support.
Come on!
scuba323 on 2/19/2017
I can't even add an IP when I want to allow all traffic or SSH traffic. It says this is disabled in this version of the app. Please update. But there is no update pending! 😡
Great start then they fixed what didn't need fixing
Lipschnitz on 1/25/2017
I think it was a few months ago the interface and the buttons were much more intuitive now you have to have a graduate degree in quantum physics and PhD's in computer science just understand what you're looking at. For all of you geniuses at Amazon and I say that literally, you guys are amazingly smart you forget how smart you are and how much you know you've also forgotten about how much we (your customer) don't know. We need a simple on boarding program but you refuse to give it to us...? Again with a big why? Aws limits me so because we can't understand what your program does we use a different company. Aws... it's so amazingly complicated With lots of cool options but it also prevents me from using the very thing that I want to. So take your PhD's and all your fancy-schmancy smartness and put them aside, make it simple for the novice to use and we would use a ton of it until then I can't use your stuff it's way too complicated.
Matrixfox on 1/15/2017
It doesn't show services. It's missing my load balancers. Meaning it's not showing my load balancer on this application. I have to load their website on a computer in order to see my load balancers. I'm on the same region! If I don't see it, I don't pay for it! That's the rule
Good start
CloudMario on 1/7/2017
MFA can be replaced by touch ID? Documentation links, videos, upcoming events, updates can help
Stuck in the past
tonydbrooklyn on 1/5/2017
For as much money that Amazon makes on AWS, you would think their app would be top notch. In fact, it's quite the opposite. You have very little control of your account from this app, only allowing admins to monitor what is running but cannot add/edit. The graphs are limited, and UI is about 10 years old. There are better (paid) apps that I would suggest considering given Amazon's apathy for their own.
Fabulous (plus support for Canada, eh)
EDM24/7 on 12/9/2016
Great app, and I really appreciate the regular updates containing not just bug fixes but useful enhancements too. Keep it up, AWS!
Very good app
Neojdjeir on 10/28/2016
Great app - not sure if it is working on my 7 plus though
WhatNowHuh on 10/25/2016
Thanks for the app. Come on people leave some reviews so the devs know it's being used.
Terrible and Useless
Craig S from SF on 10/2/2016
I've never deleted an app so fast after installing it. It's 100% useless and the product manager who created it should be fired. You can't take any actions through the app. Just use the website instead. Really disappointed that such a large company could produce such an incompetent app.
What is the point?
Giophotos on 8/6/2016
This app. is so limited. Unable to set/change S3 obj. permissions. I have a bucket/obj with public permissions which I can grab the link from another app., and can share with others. Amazon app. is reading the wrong permissions, and only offers time stamped links. I simply wish it could do more.
Poor implementation
diss3ntive on 6/8/2016
If I could rule the world one datacenter at a time, I'd be sure to hire a team that actually thinks about how users would use it. This app doesn't even allow you to view logs or metrics, let alone more the more popular services they released. They should sincerely consider dedicating more time to this app.
Getting Better
yyyguy on 6/3/2016
Keeps me alive when I'm away from the office.
Not really that useful
faa- on 3/18/2016
It's nice that they have an app but this version is very basic. It gives you an overview of your account but not much else. The app it's self is also fairly crude, it's basically a stripped down mobile version of their website and not a native application. It would be great if they added notification support. It would be really helpful to subscribe to push notifications for cloud watch alarms as well as other events such as ec2 launches. It would also be great if they started to include more AWS functionally such as the ability to create ec2 instances and take snapshots of existing ones. I know the mobile form factor is not idea for many AWS tasks but I believe there are some basic console functions missing from this app.
Looks solid
AnupWarrier on 2/25/2016
Pretty neat app!
Keeps getting better
Hibbt on 1/27/2016
Thanks for adding 1password support. Makes it much easier to get in and get my work done.
AWS in your hands!
Am4tureReviewer on 1/11/2016
This is a great app which allows you monitor your infrastructure and do "some" useful actions like restarting a server, deploying and etc. hopefully the allowed actions will increase over time. Highly recommended to anyone with an AWS account. Good job AWS mobile team. Thanks
Another product rushed to market without review
RhondaMay1212 on 1/1/2016
Too many bugs. The first bug is the name of the app. Amazon (mistakenly?) named their bff.release.
Latest update has issues
pushingthecharacterlimit on 12/28/2015
First, let me say that I'm impressed they quickly addressed the previous issues with the app. Great response. However, it seems the intended behaviour is to hide the status bar. This is annoying when you need to track the time, signal, or most importantly for me: VPN connectivity. Can't imagine why anyone would want to run this app "full screen". Could this at least be a toggle? Otherwise, an outstanding app.
Cannot use with VoiceOver
Caringblinduser on 12/28/2015
VoiceOver only speaks "web biew." Nothing else is accessible with VoiceOver
Couple of bugs
joed987 on 12/22/2015
- Title is BFF.release (is Best Friends Forever the project code name?) - iOS Status Bar disappears with app open.
Malformed app title
majorgearhead on 12/21/2015
Okay functionality. But with the latest update the app title is not right. You guys may want to fix this.
Great that 1Password support was added
N328KF on 12/21/2015
It's great that 1Password support was added. However, this version seems to have an unrelated issue. When logging into a root account using MFA, the code is not accepted. Same credentials work using a web browser or other means.
App name
IsletDeveloper on 12/21/2015
Why is it called "BFF.release"?
Really 1Password support only??? Add Lastpass support!!!

Really 1Password support only??? Add Lastpass support!!!
Login Nightmare Makes It Unusable
iLikeSlurpees on 10/31/2015
App requires you to login each and every time it's opened, which is absurd when you use a truly secure password and two factor authentication. Why Amazon didn't enable pin or touch login is beyond me.

Melissa Jericka on 10/28/2015
I tried adding this to another device (iPod touch or iPod 4) one of those..., and I guess I need to update this first. So I'll look into that, then see if I can download it here. You guys are awesome! Great work! =)
Good App, Need More Features
DaOldYeller on 10/9/2015
I have found it to be useful. Need the ability to delete all resource types, especially RDS instances
Easy to use
Violin_Player on 8/24/2015
I'm currently using it only for personal use and my needs are very modest so I don't have to edit much like the other two reviewers mentioned - if I did I'd probably do that from my computer since that's where I'd upload files from, so for me it's a non-issue. App specifics: There is a high degree of granularity so that I can quickly pull up an asset I have in a bucket and see it in the browser. You can easily login as any of the users you have set up which made me feel reassured that someone was thinking this through on the other end. I really like that the billing is so easy to get to so I can monitor it. This is so easy to use I'm now in the process of moving my work away from other (read yucky) companies to AWS. This app is light years beyond what some other major hosting companies have achieved. That I can check my buckets, instances, etc. in one hand with my toddler running around my feet is a huge plus for me. Right now it's plenty for my small projects but since I also have an enterprise account for work I'll probably give that a try at some point, too. The layout is really nice and intuitive. In terms of design, it is nicely in keeping with the website. The designers and developers did a great job of bringing the robustness of AWS to an app. It's yet another experience that has won me over to AWS. I dig it.
