The most amazing game

If you’re at all curious about this game, give it a chance and let it take you on an adventure. Slow to start but have faith, the game expands and grows into something amazing
Great Game
SURETDM on 4/19/2018
Great game that allows you to use your imagination. Love the fact that you can die without losing your progress. Great escape.
Patience is a beautiful thing.
apyaz on 4/15/2018
I love this game for how much it challenges your imagination and how it gives you a sense of wonder. I admit I was frustrated at first but after trying it a few times I really have enjoyed the process. A really unique experience.
MegaCritic.com on 4/14/2018
Addictive gameplay and an honest developer. One of my favorites.
Love it!

All I want is a night mode like there is on computer.
Brendan_D on 4/2/2018
Original, compelling... get past the alienating minimalism and you’ll find a really special experience.
bluuuuepenguin625 on 4/2/2018
This game is a masterpiece, it looks so simple but everything is so carefully done to give the game the right atmosphere and pacing. This is one of the few game that I want to replay and to try different strategies. It feels like it goes 0 to 100 in a few lines of text and that's what makes it so beautiful.

Needs reviewing. on 4/1/2018
Bought this app a while back, had to restore my iPad mini, and can't download the app anymore.
Incredible Game
Fjfjfjrndhjxugfjdndhxfuddjdnd on 3/31/2018
From the bare minimalistic design to the philosophical subplot, this game is absolutely amazing. There is nothing like it out there, and is truly addicting. Please make more like this!
jenlittlemac on 3/27/2018
I honestly can’t really decide what I like best about this game. It’s an excellent and chilling story that left me thinking. The design is baron and matches the unknowing and vague of the initial to middle part of the story. The main gameplay is simplistic, but engaging strategic. The dusty path is the perfect difficultly and adds to the story very well. You get very attached to the few characters even though you know almost nothing about them, possibly you get attached because you know so little. Overall I highly recommend this game. (Also the very begging is a bit slow [which is important to the plot] so give it a bit, it gets far more interesting as it goes on)
They don't have popups asking for ratings

Solid game
OneCrazyGirl on 3/25/2018
Really solid game writing, no distractions from the gameplay or the plot. Very nicely done.

Stress reliever

This game has been the to go to game whenever I’m in school. Whenever I am bored I know for sure that this game will get me excited. It really makes you feel accomplished fighting off beasts and figuring out the secrets within the game. There’s always a different to approach the life you live. It makes you feel like YOU are the character just trying to survive. I’ve played it like 9 times and I tell my friends all about it.
Mr. Shilo on 3/20/2018
This game starts very simply, and can almost seem boring at first. But pretty soon you’ll find yourself dragged in by the minimalistic story telling, and the fun grind of exploring, fighting enemies, and gathering resources. It’s so so so so intriguing to see how the story plays out through things you discover, and through events that happen. Get this game
What a journey
Slickshadow87 on 3/19/2018
I bought the game about a year back and didn’t get into it right away. After getting bored of other games I have it another chance and am so glad I did. The story is simple yet such a mystery it makes you digging for more. Definitely worth a try
We need more games like this
Skfndlxndkdn on 3/13/2018
The gameplay slowed down to an annoying grind at some points when I needed a lot of a specific resource but the mysterious story kept me coming back and overall the gameplay loop is satisfying and fun.
Franticants on 3/13/2018
ive literally never played a game like this one before. the lack of dialogue and simple interface kind threw me at first but it's all very easy to understand and honestly fun once you start to understand the patterns and the plot kept me going even when it got tedious collecting wood and checking traps. even if it doesn't seem like something you'd be into give it a chance bc it's so much more than just a simple game.
You become a slave owner
aprilla15 on 3/13/2018
This game is simple and addictively fun. However, not long after building a few huts your villagers become slaves. No indications of how to change or rectify this label. It makes me too uncomfortable to be a "slave owner" to keep playing. I am deleting this app and saddened that I contributed $$ to a game that includes slavery in 2018!
Sk8Muzician on 3/11/2018
A truly gorgeous piece of work here. The small details are what make this game; every action has a reaction though you as a player do not know it. The small lore that is gently revealed as you continue to play is truly beautiful and beckons you as a player to learn more. All in all, this game is really well done; what little graphics it provides it compensates with story and heart.
Regangrace93 on 3/11/2018
A few years ago I got this game a didn’t understand it so I deleted it. After talking to a friend about this game we both downloaded it again to see if we could finish it. After a few weeks I got the hang of it and its one of the best games I’ve gotten on the AppStore, just sayin.
Excellent experience!
Brandon47364926 on 3/8/2018
I could get lost in this game all day
Jck jhbusdcnu on 3/2/2018
Once you figure out what to do, it’s addictive and annoying. I died, even though the “soldier” shot me with -3/50 health! How is that possible?
A wonderful game
Nikbitters on 3/2/2018
All of the pieces of the game connect into a very creative masterpiece. There is always something new to do and something new to find. Give this game a chance, and it will leave you craving more as you play.
great game
T-Waid on 2/24/2018
dont let this game get you down. push threw it till the end. its very rewarding. not because it rewards you. but because you find a littlw something in yourself.
Stoke Fire.
Music is all around you... on 2/21/2018
All too often iOS gaming is unlimited games with a meaningless ending and storyline. ADR is not that. As you play it, it will change you, just a little bit. May the fire burn brightly for you, may it keep you warm.
Engaging and intriguing
Alexandra Chang on 2/20/2018
This game doesn’t need any graphics to be an amazing game. I really recommend everybody try this game mostly because of the story, it’s really good to talk about the different theories of our perception of the game and the actual facts. This is for the ones that really appreciate simple but meaningful stuff. If you’re one of us, you’ll get engaged right away.

Honestly, it’s a must have!
Zimmer199 on 2/15/2018
I bought this game a few years back and really disliked it due to difficulty. But I replayed it just recently and beat it in about 2 hours. The story was breathtaking and the feel was amazing. I hope for a sequel. I am very excited to play the prequel as well
WhyimJeffy_27284 on 2/15/2018
Amazing app Really deep story with fun and thrilling adventure.
In Love with it even now
Trsitan on 2/15/2018
Although this game has been out for a while and everyone has seen much of it I still feel the need to say how amazing this game. It’s intriguing and interesting to say the least, the simple start and the game all together has so much more meaning that is overseen at first, but now after beating it I’m still going back to play it again years later.
Incredible experience
Shadowy13 on 2/14/2018
This game had me hooked, and not only was it fun, it was intriguing, mysterious, and offered insight into civilization and humanity as a whole. Thank you for making this masterpiece.
Compelling and thoughtful

A landmark

I can’t say much without spoiling anything but this is truly a great indie title with a lot of love behind it. Support it if you can.
Very boring
ac0mputerguru on 2/7/2018
I can't believe this app requires iOS 10; it's a simple, text-based app and should be able to run on iOS 6. Instead, I can only play it on my phone, not the two iPads that Apple has frozen at iOS 9.3.5. I found it to be very boring - it requires too much attention to play vs what you get out of it. Yes, I gave it a chance and tried to like it, but it just wasted my time. The only reason I gave it two stars is in case I missed something, but I'm sure I didn't.
horribly addictive, and will leave you with an empty existence when it’s over with. :D
adhdictive on 2/6/2018
i almost never become addicted to games. this one had me staying up too late on work nights, checking traps and gathering wood at red lights, and stoking the fire while waiting for microwaveable dinners to heat. excited to buy Ensign next, hope there’s more to come!!
I’m lovin It

What a treat it was playing this game!
Great game but causes emotional distress

The title says it all. DON’T BUILD HUTS! I have been scarred by the slave commentary…
Wild and unexpected!
Accipiterno on 2/1/2018
I very seldom leave reviews. This game blew me away. Wasn’t sure what to expect. It started out with a simple enough idea. It was amazing to watch it grow more complicated and with each phase draw me deeper in. To the point that I could not put it down. This is much more than a game it is a thought provoking work of art that is to my own surprise the greatest mobile game I have ever played. Well done!
Epic and Artistic
NBjr on 1/31/2018
I'be loves A Dark Room for years. I don't think I've ever played through any game as many times as I've played ADR through. Still, for anyone who is intimately familiar with the web version, I found that the mobile version had new perks and storyline gems that made me reevaluate my relationship to the game and its world. Great job, guys.
Simply Outstanding

It’s a outstanding game that’s unique and really makes you want to play it over and over again!
Shaggs88 on 1/27/2018
Really good game. You feel lonely at first but once your village starts growing and youre able to explore further. You get this feeling of having an army at your disposal. 2 thumbs uo
Great low power game
Yayhaley on 1/27/2018
I love this game! I played it while at a long music festival I didn’t really want to be at. It uses so little power that I could play it all I wanted, until it was time to go back to our AirBnB. Hurray! I’m so thankful it exists.
Mysterious, engaging and highly addictive
Andyreitz on 1/25/2018
Takes a while to get into but once you have a grasp for the mechanics the game becomes totally engrossing. The formula is simple but gets incredibly deep as it moves forward. Give it a chance, you won’t regret it. Keep the fire roaring...
Great work of art
Mctwist13 on 1/22/2018
A must play survival game. Easy to play mindlessly but hard to put down. Couldn’t recommend it enough.
Fathom7811 on 1/19/2018
I absolutely love this game. My friend introduced it to me, and later i beat it and he told me he thought there was a a prequel. Turns out there is. If you thought this was hard, go play The Ensign.
