There are no movies

Everything is “add to list.” Even movies that have been our for 20 years. There is no content, it’s all “coming soon.”

Videos don’t play
tori channell on 2/11/2018
Videos rarely make it beyond a couple of minutes before saying I’m not connected to the internet. I have no troubles with other video players like Netflix or YouTube. My husband has an Android and it plays no problem on the same internet connection.
Good but needs iPhone X support

Just-Ice No Soda on 2/2/2018
So I am so glad I don’t have to buy stuff twice or forget what I have on another device. This app is the only reason I keep buying iPhones. I sure would use another device if this app didn’t exist!
Purchasing in app
its_brainwreck on 1/27/2018
It’s unfortunate that Apple is so greedy with taking profit from purchases within apps on iOS. They’re essentially ruining the experience for users within their ecosystem. Huge companies like Amazon, Google, and Twitch just say forget; users can’t make in app purchases on iOS; they can only purchase from the web and android. It’s just yet another incentive to leave Apple behind and switch to Android once and for all: a better overall experience.
There NEEDS to be a back-forward 15 seconds!!!
strictlyninja on 1/26/2018
It is so irritating that I have to scrub for the scene that I need, but even the scrubbing is not accurate enough. It can cast well, which is good, but please!!! Have a skip-seconds ability or have a scene selection?
Keep my place
singsongacol on 1/25/2018
I, like man people, watch my shows over and over. It would be so nice if this platform remembered what episode I watched last and where I was. Every time I start the app it opens to the first episode of the last season, regardless of what episode/season I watched last.
Pirate everything, you can’t buy it on IOS. Fake app.
Aslan7147 on 1/25/2018
Just pirate the movies, you can’t buy them on IOS even if you want to pay stupidly high prices. Fake app.
No update for 4 months and no iPhone X support
Tonytigerking on 1/24/2018
Google has update many of their apps to support iPhone X, yet nothing for their TV and Movie app.
You guys. Come on. iPhone X support can't be that hard
Dom B L on 1/22/2018
The iPhone X has been out for months, and a simple video app hasn't been updated to fill the screen (pretty important for a video app). Also, like most Google products, has many rough edges. Toggling "Downloaded Only" and trying to browse your library locks the app for tens of seconds- this bug has existed for at least a year.

esperantisto on 1/19/2018
Functionality works, but an app built to watch videos should use the entire screen available on the device.
Great app

Really great app but it doesn’t have iPhone X support and the picture is sooo small. Would really appreciate an update

Slowest App Updates
Ed Sosa on 1/10/2018
Where the hell is the iPhone X support? This is just lazy on the Play Movies team, it's been months since the iPhone X was released and developers knew of the new resolution well before the devices release. I want to use the Google Play movies app, but they're making my look up my content via YouTube under purchases. I want to access my purchases via GP Movies and I want Dolby 5.1 sound output (for casting, airplay, and lightning to HDMI output). Get it together GP Movies.
Why not support the iPhone X
iReviewit2foru on 1/7/2018
This app really needs iPhone X support. I know I can use the YouTube app and I have been to watch all of my Google Play Movies purchases. I just think if your going to keep the Play Movies app around it really should support the iPhone X since it has the biggest, highest resolution display of any iPhone.

Needs iPhone X Support
Works, but could use improvement.
'Ru on 1/1/2018
Does the job, but it's really obvious that the video player gets less love than YouTube's. No way to quickly skip back or forward by 10/15 seconds and no fine scrubbing control means good luck trying to back up just enough to hear that one line you missed 5 seconds ago. There's also no custom volume indicator, so anytime you adjust the volume, the giant grey square default iOS overlay pops up and covers half the screen.
At the moment

Though while trying to play this from my phone to my Apple box, it pauses through the movie or tv show I’m watching. But love the app with the cast to the smart tv. Just wanted to let u know about the glitch with casting from the phone to the Apple box. I wanted to add for those that use google play music and get the YouTube as well. Allow the YouTube to access your purchases. You’ll be able to watch them on your YouTube page. Just realized that.
Basically useless
Albeck01 on 12/29/2017
This will not allow me to rent a movie, download it, and play while connected to my tv. It displays some message about protected movies. I’ll go back to getting movies from iTunes and Amazon video. At least they allow playback on my tv. What a useless app this is.
Great app but needs more work.
LP-RIPPER24 on 12/29/2017
Please add the IPHONE X update. The movie should fit the screen. Kills it to see just half or a little more of screen on widescreen. Aside of that solid platform.
Alright
WISSATHERAINBOW on 12/27/2017
I want to be able to pay for the movies on the app. I don’t want to have to get on a computer or something to have to pay for them.
App is broken on iPad
Cpt.JackOneill on 12/26/2017
I have not been able to play any movies or tv shows through this app for several weeks. It used to work just fine, but all of the sudden it says that the media file is not supported and does nothing.
Really

Lacks iPhone X support, purchasing options
LightningRaptor on 12/14/2017
I'm an Android user who only just recently switched over to an iPhone X. I'm really disappointed to see this app lacking full screen support on the X. Google has updated most of their other apps on iOS--this one needs a quick update. Additionally, it would be amazing if I could continue to browse and purchase content via this app.
Tiny movies and not optimized for iPhone X or iPad
Lamar310 on 12/13/2017
No option to watch movies full screen on iPhone X or iPad. All movies look tiny as a result. iTunes movies are all full screen.
iPhone X aspect ratio?

Can you guys and gals update for the iPhone X... please?
Unstable on iPhone 8
ReactorOperator on 12/9/2017
Using a generation one Chromecast. The app is extremely unstable. I have to power cycle my phone in order to connect. During playback, I consistently lose the ability to control what is playing. I am using the most recent version, updated three minutes ago. Please make your app more stable.
Beyond Satisfied!
Utahn but not Mormon on 12/6/2017
As an iPhone user, I was distraught I couldn’t chromecast movies I rented on iTunes. I made a wild guess and looked this up—finding it on a whim. I get to rent movies, watch them on my TV, and the curious cat who obsesses over the cast that I am is satisfied by the app showing me which stars are on screen at all times. Could only be happier if this was advertised better so I didn’t waste so much money on iTunes.

MAKE HD DOWNLOAD OPTION!
WeareVikings on 11/30/2017
I know the quality of these can be 1080p. When viewing these movies on Youtube, or when streaming, I get amazing HD quality. However, I lack internet connection due to how much I move around, so I tend to download my movies to watch. I’ve stopped using iTunes due to the convenience and versatility of Google Play, but there is a sacrifice. I have the option to download iTunes movies to my iPad in SD or HD, however, when I play downloaded Google Play Movies on my iPad, they always play at 480p. This is a MAJOR inconsistence, as I pay the price of the HD version of a movie without the ability to take advantage of it. PLEASE change this, Google. I don’t want to switch back to iTunes movies, but I can’t continue to use Google Play Movies like this. A simple option in settings for download quality would make this app a 5/5.
Sort movies feature missing
willshrly on 11/29/2017
There is no way to sort through my movies by release date or recently added. Seems like such a basic feature. I have over 300 movies and it’s inconvenient to go through alphabetically only.
Screw it....

Needs some things
kaydden on 11/26/2017
Okay I hate thats I am not able to purchase movies from the app, I don’t understand why I’m forced to go to a computer or use a web app to buy a movie when it would be much more convenient to do it with in the app itself. Also I loved to see a quick update to support the iPhone X, Thanks
Add a way to archive or delete content!!
hefndja on 11/24/2017
We seriously need a way to archive movies or shows. I watched some of the free shows and short movies, just to check them out, not knowing that they will be stuck in my library forever!! So please add an archive button to unclutter my library. Thank you.

Loses connection when casting to chromecast or Vizio SmartCast tv AND on 2 separate Apple TVs it’ll play for a while then it disconnects, or it’ll play without sound...I really want this to work because I use both, but you’re killing me here
Wack, wack,wack
Nicnaccccccccccccc on 11/24/2017
Google play is so wack! I downloaded the app, chose a movie only to get a continuous thinking circle, infact it’s still circling as I’m typing this review.. such a big disappointment!! Don’t waste your time!! 🤦🏾‍♀️

Quality App - Imperfect Integration
rseijas on 11/15/2017
The Google Play Movies app is great. It plays at high quality while also integrating movies to youtube. The ui is intuitive and simple, and the the recommendations are nice. The wishlisting option is also nice. However, the app does have one huge problem for me. The primary reason for using this app is due to integration with other services like moviesanywhere or vudu. The biggest issue is that not all movie carry over from these services (probably due to licensing.) without the UV integration, the app doesn’t have my full collection and is therefore less important to me than vudu.
