"It is a programming tour-de-force, and really does provide a substantial subset of the functionality of desktop powerhouses like Mathematica and Maple."
▸ Simply the best calc app by ilachina

Develop your ideas to their fullest extent with MathStudio's expressive scripting language that features new syntax to do amazing things with just a few lines of code. Research and development in the scientific, engineering, mathematical and computing fields almost always involves the need for a scripting language to take your results one step further. Sync your documents with iCloud and have access from any device including your iPhone and iPad.

"Perfect app for quick, powerful computation and visualization. I keep using it instead of Mathematica on my home computer because it's just so convenient. I can't believe how well it renders the evolution of such complex systems. I am blown away."
▸ Mini Mathematica by Professor Dave

MathStudio goes beyond a traditional graphing calculator by combining the power of the fastest proprietary computer algebra system available on iOS that can create cartesian, parametric, polar, implicit, vector fields, cylindrical, spherical, regression and image plots. Plot time graphs using the T variable to create animated plots that graph in space and time!

"This app is way more than a graphing calculator. Capabilities like solving differential equations, preforming matrix factorizations and many more place it in a league of its own for hand held computation. The interface is simple and the extensive catalog makes it easy to quickly learn how to execute any operation. As an undergraduate math and physics student, this app has completely replaced my TI and drastically reduced the time I spend on MATLAB and Mathematica. I would recommend MathStudio to anyone!"
▸ Amazing Capabilities by Mac-Lover

From basic calculations to college calculus, MathStudio is a full featured scientific calculator and is an indispensable tool for students, teachers and engineers. It provides features that go beyond what you will find in traditional TI calculators with a modern and intuitive interface with hundreds of mathematical functions that cover Basic Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Trigonometry, Precalculus, Calculus, Statistics, Finite Math, Linear Algebra, Statistics and Data Analysis.

"This app has changed the way that I do math every day and I highly recommend it to anyone who does math on a daily basis."

App well worth it

It’s hard to do justice in a short review to an app that is a sort of mini-matlab & Mathematica rolled into one. It has a basic, but quite acceptable, CAS (Computer Algebra System) and workes well in either symbolic or numeric modes. It has a fairly extensive set of built in functions and plotting capbilities. It supports iCloud Drive, versioning, and other things Mac users have come to expect in Mac programs. There is a verison for the iPhone/iPad that syncs files between the Apple platforms. There is also a good discussion board for bugs/issues/requests. All in all, quite handy. There is a web version that can be tried out at the developer’s web site. I recommend you try it out to see if MathStudio is useful to you.
The developer is serious with regard to making this a great program
johnet123 on 2/4/2016
The older version of this program was very useful, almost like a calculator. Although some of the aformention functionality has been changed, it is not necessarily a bad thing; it only means that the user has to re-educate his or herself with regard to its new format. I initially had some problems with the program but the deloper was quick to both update the program and offer me some very helpful suggestions. Becuase I have not fully utilized and checked the complete functionality of this program, I am rating it 4 stars. I hope that after I fully explore all the commands, graphing, and its other abilities, I will be able to give the program 5 stars.
Running Fine in Yosemite

Pomegranate appears to have fixed whatever ailed the version 7 interface, it appears to work as nicely as versions 5 & 6. I’m revising my rating to reflect my overall satisfaction and enjoyment of this package. I’m working on being able to “roll my own” mathamatical software in Python, but still enjoy this flexible and approachable tool. The learning curve is drastically easier than Sage albeit less powerful. I’m happy to see it it running well again.
Great app takes a false step forward

I loved version 5 of MathStudio. This version has great potential, but doesn’t quite reach it. At the very least, it should retain all of the functionality of the previous version. It’s a bit disconcerting to find functions that work just fine in version 5 give a message of:”Error: this function is not yet implemented”. What is that? I’m surprised and disappointed in the developer.
Good interface, minor things to fix

There are a lot of welcome improvements over version 5. I especially like the new interface. One problem is that the “toggle sidebar” menu item does not always work. It would also be nice if this had a keyboard shortcut. There are also fewer options now, which does make the interface cleaner. Colors are now relegated to inline commands, which allows for greater flexibility. I do think there should be few more options available. One simple thing I have run across so far is changing an output from a fraction to a decimal. In MathStudio 5, if you pressed enter and the output was a fraction, a second press of “enter” would give you a decimal. This feature is gone in MathStudio 6 and I miss it.
